Question testosterone level "within range" but VERY low LH/FSH: what can i do ?

Hello !

This is my very first post on the "new" MESO (i used to post a couple of years ago).

I am 32 years old and have been taking AS for almost 10 years.

Ive been currently off AS for 10 weeks and my sexdrive is at the worst its ever been. 1 month ago i got my blood taken and ive just got the results a few days ago, here are they below:

- - LH: 0.2 (0.8-7.6)*
- - FSH: 0.11 (0.7-11.1)*
- - Prolactin: 117 (53-360)
- - SHGB (sex hormone binding globulin): 24.8 (7.2-100)
- - Testosterone: 10.2 (9.08-55.2)
- - Oestradiol (E2): 73 (0-206)

My thyroid functions and cholesterol are excellent. My liver functions are okay (i had worse).

As you can see my LH and FSH are hardly detectable and WAY below ! My oestrodiol, SHBG, prolactin are okay. My testosterone level is within range but at the very bottom.

I was planning to go back on a mild cycle of AS next week. Does anyone know if my sexdrive would kickstart as a result of taking 200-400mg a week, 20mg Nolvadex a day and possibly 500iu HCG every week or so to try and increase LH/FSH levels. I was told that going back on Cypionate (when my testosterone is within range and my LH+FSH are so low) would decrease even further my LH/FSH...

At the minute i am unable to get an erection and my sexdrive is NIL. Ive already been in a similar situation in the past but im pretty sure its still never been that bad. Atleast i had SOME sexdrive and i could just pop a Viagra and get a hard-on while right now since i have no sexdrive at all i simply can't !

Should i start a mini-HCG cycle and then go on Cypionate ?

I was also thinking about HMG to boost my FSH but its a drug relatively new or atleast unknown to me and everyone around me. Has anyone ever taken HMG to increase LH/FSH ?

Any advice/suggestion info would be VERY appreciated !

So would you say this is because of AS if so then why do it again don't you think this could make it worse. Read the Sticky.

it is the truth that if you went on cypionate you would reduce your LH/FSH to practically zero.

haphazardly going on a 'cycle' will do nothing for you as a long term solution.

Yes absolutely. This happened to me in the past aswell but as far as i can remember i still had SOME libido even though it was low at times.

Ive tryed CLOMID 3 times in the last 10 years and every single time the same thing happened. My dick shrivelled and shrunk and i was TOTALLY unable to get get a hard on. CLOMID musnt work on me, in fact i get the opposite effect with it than what i'm looking for. So no more CLOMID.

Ive tryed PROVIRON, PUIRA PUAMA, TRIBULUS, DAMIANA, ZMA and SAW PALMETTO (all in the same time) and things really improved for about 2 weeks (i could get a hard on and i wouldnt lose it at all) then went back to what they were before this improvement..

Unfortunately i never got my hormonal profile tested before so i am totally unable to say what my test/LH/FSH was like in the past with previous AS cycles if for the last 10 years . All i know is that i always pretty much felt like right now (with maybe a slightly increased libido) and going back on a cycle made things back to "normal" (extremely increased sexdrive, aggression etc), atleast for a the first 6 weeks or so, then things started to go down again. But i am getting older so i don't know if things are getting worse as well in that department ?

However this time, i cycled AS for 4 months with a 3-4 weeks break (inc. a HCG mini-cycle). I had sex on the brain pretty much for the whole 6 months even though my sexdrive was going up and down like a yoyo and despite the fact that the last 2 months or so it was harder for me to keep a hardon if it wasn't being "played" with... lol. Also, about 1 week after i had my last 200mg shot of Cypionate my sexdrive almost disappeared straight away. I did do PCT and i even used ARIMIDEX as my oestrogene level must then have been very high (i was extremely emotional) but nothing really worked besides using natural supplementation (+PROVIRON): see my previous post above.

Yes i know on the long term it wouldnt be of any benefit but on the short term solution and on lower dosage shouldnt i get some (temporary) benefit ?

Do people on HRT also have low test and/or LH/FSH levels ? And if they have indeed, don't they benefit from HRT ?

It depends i think. For myself i have low FSH/LH levels to go along with my low T. Mine is becauseof a pituitary tumar so i am classified as secondary hypogonadism. Primary hypogonadism is when LH/FSH are high due to the body not responding to the signal to make T from the pituitary or hypothalmus? I am not sure which and hopefully someone else will chime in and make any corrections in my explanation.

You will most likely continue to have these problems with your sexual function and it will continue to get worse until you decide to give up using AAS. This will happen to most guys eventually, especially as you get older. Having a break of just 4 weeks will not help.

You need to use your logic here rather than searching for answers, that will enable you to continue to abuse yourself. There are no solutions, other than quitting and giving your body time to re-estabilsh its proper hormonal milieu. A restart protocol will most likely be necassary in your case after 10 years.

Sexual function is far to complex for you to counteract, and once it starts failing it can be indicative of far more sinister things going on in your body.
I have read so many posts like this by guys in your exact situation, who are not facing the real problem.. the time has come to stop.
But you are probably not ready to hear that.
I can say this because I was there myself and after having worked in gyms as an instructor for many years I have watched this happen time and time again.

I am curious about this also. Will very low LH/FSH levels cause a loss of libidio, ED, anxiety etc?

I also have a pituitary tumor and my FH/LSH levels are virtually non-existant. They had me do 3 blood tests to make sure the lab wasn't making a mistake.

I am on Androderm 5mg patch daily and this increased my total T, but won't do anything for LH/FSH.

What problems will low LH/FSH actually cause?

If you added HCG 250 IU's every 3 days you would feel much better. Doing this will stim. the LH cells in your tesits, body and brain to work again. Read TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG Update at www.allthingsmale.com.

I know it would be a good idea to stop now (while things are not yet -hopefully- damaged before repair) but it is very very hard to do. I've been off cycle for 10 weeks and it's just killing me. Aches and pains, loss of interest in anything starting with sex. Even though i had a shot of HCG last night and today ive been feeling just great. Not far from the confidence/happyness while on gear to be honest ! It was a nice unexpected boost ! Not to mention that my work out was excellent today.

Thanks for your input Matt Muscle.
