Default Tests are back...tumor on pituitary gland

I posted a while back about having low test levels. I am 37yrs old and besides 5 back surgeries I am in good health. Here are the test results I have so far:

3/1/07 -- Test Serum 30L ng/dl

3/12/07 -- Test Serum 55L ng/dl

3/14/07 -- LH 1.9 mIU/mL
FSH 2.5 mIU/mL
Prolactin 8.5 ng/mL

3/26/07 -- Test results came back from CT Scan and showed a tumor on the left side of brain on pituitary gland

I will have the results of a full workup of blood tests this week to post.

I am really lost at this point as of what is going on. I go back to the Urologist Monday and am wanting to know what questions i should ask? What do you experienced members think I should be taking and what doses, to get my levels up? And any other info you can think of.

The Endo that did the ct scan said the tumor is small and not to worry....will scan every year to make sure it dosent get bigger.....but it is still not comforting to know you have one.....my wife if freaking out.

Thanks for any advise,

Don

Don't get upset at least you know what is wrong I went 23 yrs. thinking my low T was due to my testis not working. I figured it out last yr. that it's my pituitary gland by adding HCG to my TRT and my levels going up double so my testis work I am Hypopituitary from a bad blow to the head some 24 yrs. ago in a auto accident. Now when we look back at my labs they were showing this big time. I was low normal for DHEA, Cortisol, Thyroid, IGF-1 or HGH, Glucose and still finding other hormones that are low. Make sure you get all things that come from the pituitary tested and treat them. A good site to post this at is link.

Here they are:

3/1/07 -- Test Serum 30L ng/dl -- (normal range 241 - 827)

3/12/07 -- Test Serum 55L ng/dl -- normal range 241 - 827)

3/14/07 -- LH 1.9 mIU/mL -- (normal range 20 - 69yr old male 1.5 - 9.3)

FSH 2.5 mIU/mL -- (normal range 1.4 - 18.1)

Prolactin 8.5 ng/mL -- (normal range 2.1 - 17.7)

I am bascially at the lowest limit on all except Prolactin.

See Here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituitary_gland
and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituitary_adenoma
Wiki says it a lot betrter and faster than I can. If you can get all that under your belt by Monday You`ll be able to follow the DR easily and know what to ask him to elaborate on.
GL and dont get all fired up or let the wife either. Not all that uncommon and treatable.

I know how you feel mate, i have a pituitary tumour myself. mine is a prolactinoma, finding it and putting things straight has been one of the most liberating things in my life. Don't worry everything will work out. :-)
