Life Extension Foundation's (LEF), Life Extension Mix. 14 caps per day. Yes, 14! As plymouth city said, LEF puts out top notch products. Of course LEF Mix is for the anti-aging, I want to live past 100 crowd. I take other supps in addition so, my total is around 65 pills throughout the day. Been doing this long before starting TRT. But....TRT has had a more profound effect than anything else.

LEF have a program, Top 10 Steps --------------------------------------------------------------------- Top 10 Steps For Achieving Optimal Health 1: Life Extension Mix™ 2: Super Booster Softgels with Advanced K2 Complex 3: Super Omega-3 EPA/DHA with Sesame Lignans and Olive Fruit Extract 4: Super BioActive CoQ10 (Ubiquinol) 5: Mitochondrial Energy Optimizer 6: Cognitex 7: Advanced Natural Prostate Formula with 5-LOXIN® (men) 7: Bone Restore (men and women) 8: Restoring Youthful Hormone Balance 9: S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe) 10: Aspirin ----------------------------------------------------------------- I take them all. on top of that I am taking their supplements to combat the 2/16 estrogens ratio and few others that came up because of my blood testing. All in all it is lots of pills. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Everytime I see my doc I am asking him question; what to do with the boatload of pills that I am taking? I am not even sure if I need most of them. Money does not influence my decission. I just want to do what is the best for my body. This question led me to Genova Diagnostics and their multitude of tests. It is a work in progress. At this moment I think that the answer is in individual nutritional evaluation. But I do not want to go to nutritionist, they do lots of hocus pocus, use strange languge and lots of guessing. That is strange to me, and I do not feel comfortable. Also I see this type of exchanges here on this board, often lots of guessing that turns out to be not really that helpfull to individual seeking relief. I would rather go with comprehensive plan supported by large database and smart computer program all resided at large company backed by long history in this field. But I am comfortable with the general premise that nutritionists promote and think that it is the way to go. I also prefer making my own decissions. Ok, Genova designed two tests that are made for people like me. They are to answer this important question: what supplements, vitamins, minrals, else, to take, based on individual nutritional eveluation. Those tests use blood, urine and saliva all in one test. On top of specific results, the tests comes with bottom line that is list of supplements and daily dose. The tests: Rather complete test: GDX NutrEval Profile GDX NutrEval Profile Shorter test, still good GDX ONE - Optimal Nutrition Evaluation GDX ONE - Optimal Nutrition Evaluation ================================================== ========== Those tests are combination of existing Genova tests, but bundled and analyzed as unit. This is work in progress for me. Unfortunately (litle bit), last Tuesday I have send my samples to do the ONE. I also send couple of other individula tests, because they made sense to me. They turned out to be the difference between NutrEval and ONE. Unfortunately only day latter I became aware of this other bundle of tests (GDX NutrEval Profile). Live and learn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My current plan is to do the (NutrEval + Estroessence) once every three to four months. And to make transition from my current supplements to this new hopefully more justified list. This is a project that will probably take most of 2008. I will keep posted about my story. I have already started on this trek. I had one of this tests done and described here: JanSz-Metabolic Analysis and Cellular Energy JanSz-Metabolic Analysis and Cellular Energy I still buy LEF products, it is just going to be much shorter list and hopefully more helpfull. I get my multivitamis from LEF. When it comes to multi's, they are so important that its best to spend the extra money and get the best. The rest of my supps though things have changed Country Life is quickly seperating itself from other companies by not only putting their products up to all the testing protocols, but by also bieng one of the most inexpensive/. I am already making the switch over. Most of my stuff is country life. Their prices and quality simply cannot be beat. Plus, when you buy then online at the better health store, free shipping. And a 10 percent online discount What I recommend everyone takes, in order of most important 1. Multi, no iron unless needed 2. Cod Liver Oil 3. Vitamin E mixed tocotrienals 4. Resveratrol As you roll along and want to add some things, extra zinc, vit c, magnesium, copper, niacin would be next |
