Default What to do?

I have been diagnosed with low test levels and after reading numerous posts in this forum I've come to the conclusion that my doctor has no clue what he's doing with me. I'm 32 years old and my test level was about 250 on a scale of 200-1000. He has prescribed me Androgel (4 pumps a day) for the past year. Athough my levels went up initially, the last test I had me back down to 280. I have not taken any HCG, nolva, arimidex, etc.. either. My nuts feel like they've shrunk even more and I have absolutley no sex drive/libido or energy. What do i tell him and what do I do?

And what do you guys do when you finally get your test levels back to normal? Do you continue with your protocol? Or do you let your body function the way it was designed to? Is it possible to just kick start your body into functioning properly again?

it really depends on what type of hypogonadism you have; there are 2 main types, primary & and secondary. which one you are can only be fully determined by a blood test reviewing your Total Testosterone, LH, FSH, and Estradiol. Low levels of LH and FSH typically indicate secondary hypogonadism, more of a pituitary(and possibly hypothalamus) problem where not enough of these chemicals are being sent out to the testes, hence the low testosterone. High levels of LH & FSH on the other hand indicate more of a problem involving your balls; with your pituitary recognizing not enough testosterone is being produced, it attempts to remedy the problem by sending out an abundance of the latter chemicals. This is done in vain however, as the testicles are proving their inability to produce the testosterone. When determining what approach to take, another point to consider is how exactly you began having the low T; was it due to an injury, steroid abuse, etc?

Good point what Kid told you is what should have been done in testing before you started on TRT now it's to late. All you can do now is a Clomid or HCG Stimulation test to see if your levels go way up if they do then your Seconday and your probelm is do to your pituitary gland not sending enough of the messages to your testis to make T. Read this the tests are in this.
http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf
If you see a Endo he will take you off TRT and try to retest you but this dose not work because after being on TRT for sometime stoping TRT makes you go lower then you first base test and you can crash bad so bad you will not be able to work. So with a good Dr. doing other things it's possable to find out way your low in the first place. Yet the treatment is about the same so even when you find out not much will change. Unless you have a tumor the can be treated most can 't they are just watched.

If I were you I would go to this link.
http://www.allthingsmale.com/publications.html
Read and print out TRT: A Recipe for Success and the HCG update. Give this to your Dr. and tell him you want to start on shots and add HCG to your TRT this if your Seconday will make you levels jump way up. I have been on TRT for over 24 yrs always told I am primary meaning my testis don't work well. I went on 100mg. of Depo T shots every week and after 6 weeks I added in HCG 500 IU's 3 x's a week after my 15 th shot of HCG we tested and my total T doubled. So now I know my testis do work and I am Hypopituitary do to a bad head injury some 24 yrs. ago. So now we treat my low DHEA, Cortisol, Thyroid and Glucose. Just give it to your Dr. and tell him you want to try this.
