Default Your Opinions Please..............

Hi guys, I need your advice.

I have been told I must take Blood Pressure medication.

Problem is I have tried several types in the past and had problems with it.
I have tried Avapro (irbesartan) and Natrilix SR in the past.

I found these drugs gave me bad depression and I had the blues with the world, not good.
I also suffer with ED and as Viagra and other tablets don't work for me,I was Pissed off to find that that while taking these drugs it was TOTAL ED, yep nothing at all, which made the blues even worse.

So today the doctor was admit that I have to take medication to reduce my blood pressure and I told her of passed experiences she gave me Karvea telling me I would get no side effects from this drug.

When I arrive home and open up my script buggered me dead if it's not irbesartan under another name..............

So what I need to know is, is there a blood pressure drug out there that will reduce my pressure with giving me the side effects?

She did talk of another drug called Coversyl, but when I looked up it's side effects, it's not much better.

I hope I can find some thing to work as the wife came with into the doctors and heard what she said, now she has crack it with me too...........BUGGAR.

Later,
Albert.

Well, this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I take a med called terasozin (brand name in my country is Hytrin) which is an alpha-blocker and which lowers bp. I've noticed only very mild sides, most notably, dryu sinus passages. It did make me light-headed the first week I used it so I used it only at night before going to bed, and after a week this symptom passed. No sexual sides at all that I noticed.

Alpha blockers do not effect erections as frequently as beta's do. Lisinopril is a decent choice. It's a very common choice for younger men especially, for this reason.

Doc's shold have a good idea of which ones are the least offenders. Hypertension is not something to mess with. It'll cause ED more permanently than meds will if left unchecked, not to mention a whole host of other life threatening illnesses that occur with untreated HTN. Not trying to be a bummer but treat the problem that will do the most harm. It's a bugger getting old-er!

Thanks guys, I'm researching already.

Phil just looked at Cozaar and found it has more side effects then Irbesartan,
check this information out.

My Blood Pressure problem has only been noticed since I started TRT, the doctor I was seeing at the time did nothing, the next one would not help me find one that would work for me, so I put them in the bin.

Like is to short to feel like total shit every day, I would rather died happy then live to a ripe old age thinking about necking myself every day as I feel my life is not worth living.

My Dr. was going to put me on BP meds after I got my E2 down and my ED went away. But he put me on Cialis 20 mgs every 72 hrs this helps with the little ED I now have and is keeping my BP down. It's like killing two birds with one stone.

Albert, get your doc to prescribe you Adalat. This is a blood pressure med that has absolutely no side effects for most. ED with this med is unheard of.

I take Cozzar (Losartan) and have no problems with it. I have been on and off for about 5 years. When I exercise it is fine when I don't it goes up over time. I finally conceded to just take the damn stuff. It is an ACE Inhibitor. Actually an ACE II inhibitor. No side effect at all. I have been told that at higer doses people can develop a dry cough but, I think that is more with the older ACE inhibitors and not with the newer more specific ACE II ones. Hope this helps..

Thanks Andrew, but I just had a look at the side effects of Adalat and it's like all the others, check out this site

Oh well looks like I put up with high blood pressure.

I think I made a mistake in taking the wife with me to the doctors, she wants me to take the bloody tablets she has sitting in the kitcken, only been one day and I'm in the sh*t. Oh what the hell it's only a little deeper today..................

Thanks,
Albert.
