Welcome to the board. I eat plain mini wheats(lots of fiber) with splenda and skim milk. I also like plain cheerios as well.

I believe both are a pretty low hit on the glycemic index.
Fiber one is another good one.

Bump for a few more.

Total has a new one out with high protein and low carb content. Has anyone tried it?

I believe that Cheerios is a good cereal to eat. I also eat Life. I wouldn't consider those junk.

I eat either the big shredded wheat biscuits (plain), bran flakes (the wal mart kind), or kashi crunch. All 3 are high in fiber and low in sugar.

No processed cereal is good...eat oatmeal if you want a breakfast cereal. I still would perfer yams or something like that as a carb source, but that's just me.
word....breakfast cereals are worthless. however if you go to a store like whole foods or wild oats, theyll have minimally processed organic shit like "optimum". thats the only cold cereal ill ever eat. its actually awesome, its got 10 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein, not to mention tons o' nutrients check it out

ih pressure, extruded processed and toasted are a few words used to describe the process of making cereal. it's done under high pressure and temperature. even kashi, which i believe if 'puffed' meaning it's pretty nasty. it also goes beyond the GM plant issue and the sugar and fiber stuff. it's really about the way grains should be processed to eat them so they become FOOD for the body and not an empty carb that is more close to a toxin to the body than a food. you body must use it's stores of vitamins and minerals to process junk food that takes away from what your muscles can use to build and repair.

grains should be eaten whole, soaked or sprouted to neutralize phytates and cooked in some way as to make them more digestible.

don't you guys subscribe to the whole line of thinking 'if it comes in a can or a box, it's junk' ?? i try not to eat anything like that, if possible.
