Default Cheat Day Meltdown

Ever had a complete, total meltdown on your diet cheat day? If so, what was it like?

Took a trip to the City That Care Forgot...New Orleans today and tossed the diet right out the window onto the streets of the French Quarter. Frankly, after months of nothing but baked, skinless chicken breast or tuna fish and limited simple carbs...it was awesome!

Here's the lunch that I'm sure set me back a week's worth of cardio.

Appetizers:
1 small loaf hot french bread
Oysters wrapped in bacon, quick fried then served on on a plate with spiced butter and a Jack Daniels on the rocks to wash it down.

Waiting on main course
Another Jack Daniels on the rocks

Main Course
Filet of beef, about the size of your fist, cooked rare and topped in a type of spiced, cream sauce
Accompanied by more french bread, diced potatoes cooked in butter and garlic and large glass of Merlot wine

Dessert (or desert...however you spell it, after 2 Jacks and the wine, I didn't care)
Chocolate pecan pie a la mode and a cup of coffee.

On the back seat of the car during drive home
A good nap

Can't wait to get on the scale in the morning!

I routinely go up 6-8 pounds over the weekend while dieting.

Yep, the weight roller coaster is real. I've been tracking my weight daily since the middle of January. Just about without fail, I'll weigh the least on Tuesday and Wednesday, gradually increase from there and peak on Sunday. It will cycle high to low in a week's time. The graph attached shows a starting weight of 218 and the last measurement of 211.4 today...two days after the huge pig-out mentioned above. Fortunately, the overall trend is down, which I'm trying to accomplish. I'm guessing most of the fluctuation has to do with water retention.

BTW. I started this "diet" when I weighed 230, hence the 230 in my signature. I weighed that much a little more than a year ago after quitting smoking, going on TRT and starting to lift and do cardio. Not dramatic weight loss, but a very satisfying change in body composition.
