Cholesterol ingested through the mouth(dietary cholesterol) is excreted from the body. This is not what causes health problems. Its the cholesterol the body produces that counts. The body uses cholesterol to produce many essential materials including all types of steroids(Test and estrogen). LDL is inferior in this and causes many negative effects. For good cholesterol good fats are needed. "Saturated fatty acids—found in foods ranging from beef to ice cream, to mozzarella cheese to doughnuts—should make up no more than 10 percent of a person’s total calorie intake each day. Saturated fats are considered harmful to the heart and blood vessels because they are thought to increase the level of LDLs and VLDLs and decrease the levels of HDLs. Monounsaturated fats—found in olive, canola, and peanut oils—appear to have the best effect on blood cholesterol, decreasing the level of LDLs and VLDLs and increasing the level of HDLs. Polyunsaturated fats—found in margarine and sunflower, soybean, corn, and safflower oils—are considered more healthful than saturated fats. Yeah, that makes sense... I knew that when you intake sat fats it can stimulate your liver to produce cholesterol. Nothing to worry about intaking the protien. I know that sat fats can help increase your test levels, so how do you gage how much you should be taking? Should it always be at 10 percent? thanks

What do you think about egg yolk? I've heard so much back & forth on this one. Some say it's healthier to leave it in bc there are a lot of vitamins in there & the actual cholesterol you will ingest from the yolk won't hurt you that much (given that you arent taking in a lot of saturated fat - but there is some saturated fat in the yolk...).

OK the reason any fat increases Test is because in cholesterol form it is used to create Test(sterol-steroid). Its best to limit saturated fat. It does increase LDL levels and does cause plaque to form in arteries. Eggs have about 7 grams of saturated fat in them, mostly in the yolk. Free range and organically fed chickens lay eggs with a lower sat fat density. I'd have to check the carton covers to compare the difference.
