I have recently started a fat loss program and am really working hard at increasing my metabolism rate by weight training, cardio and eating 6 meals each day. During the week I have no issues at all in eating at a predetermined time: 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm. But when it comes to the weekend I get all messed up! For instance, I took the family to the park on Saturday afternoon and ended up staying into the evening for a firework show and so I didn't even get back home until almost 12am. I did manage to bum a little food off of a friend (that had actually planned to stay the whole day). But that was only one small, unclean meal for 10 hours. So I guess my question is, how long does it take for your body to go into its starvation mode by missing meals? And how quickly can it recover from that? |
