Ok this is my diet that i have been on for a couple weeks now. It's a little tough cause my carb intake is basically zero but i'm trying to get lean. I'm 5'11 227lbs 18% b/f which is all around my waist(drives me nuts) anyways.... This is a typical day of eating 1ST meal right after waking up - Protein Shake approx 30gram protein mixed with 3 ice cubes and 1 glass of water and a multivitamin. 2Nd meal - 1 hour after first meal i have a can of tuna or salmon. 3rd meal - 2 hours after - boneless skinless chicken breast 4rth meal- 2 hours after - another shake like meal 1 or i'll mix it up with some egg whites made into an omelette. 5th meal - 2 hours after - more chicken or tuna, or extra lean ground beef done in the george foreman grill. It comes out great that way. all dried up with none of the greasy fat. throughout the day i will snack on some small amounts of plain almonds. I also DO NOT use salt, butter, i dont drink pop, or milk, i dont eat ANY junkfood whatsoever, no pizza, chocolate nothing.. just what i mentioned in the diet. Am i doing this overboard or am i missing something in the diet.. I;ve been out of the game A LONG time so i kind of need to be refreshed. I;ve always relyed on drugs to help me in the past but this time around i'm doing it the old fashioned way with strict training and eating. Is there anything bad about me using 1-2 tspn of natural raw sugar with my coffee which i usually drink black? Any input will be appreciated.. Thanks |

KD's right about the carbs. Give yourself some carbs. Your brain functions off of glucose. When you deprive yourself of carbs for too long at too drastic of a cut, you will get depressed and feel horrible. You just can't get by without carbs. I wouldn't put sugar in my coffee, though. Simple carbs are bad at anytime except post workout to spike insulin. Otherwise you need slow burning carbs like whole oats, brown rice, and whole wheat bread. Go with a non-calorie sweetener for coffee or tea. My advice would be to not reduce your caloric intake so drastically at the beginning of your diet. You'll lose fat fine eating quality foods and keeping your total calories at about 500-600 calories below what you typically burn every day. Good luck, bro. KD and I are also dieting.
