Maltodextrin bro...if you're using a powder, use one with maltodextrins...

It's a complex carbohydrate that's known as a glucose polymer. Maltrodextrin has the highest rating on the glycemic index of 100. It's a fine white powder possessing a bland taste and excellent dispersion in water or other beverages or drinks.

Maltodextrin is most commonly found in the once popular "weight gain" formulas and now in "Meal Replacement Powders". Maltodextrin should be used by someone wishing to increase their muscle mass and strength, without the complications of simple sugars. The most important use for maltodextrin is post-workout. Maltodextrin has the ability to replace glycogen stores quickly and spare amino acid catabolism. Maltodextrin will raise an individuals insulin level, making them more apt to absorb more nutrients. Takes the guess work out of carbohydrate intake after workouts. Also recommended for bodybuilders on low carbohydrate diets to prevent glyconeogenesis, though timing is crucial. Maltodextrin is also used to increase vascularity of the muscle and give one the "pumped" look.

Hope this helps bro.

Neither of which is a very good source for post-workout carbs. Plus, who in their right mind buys rice cakes??

Malto is cheap and works perfectly for post workout drinks.

Beer making stores should carry it. A decent local supplement shop should have it. And pretty much any online supp dealer will have it. It should run about $2.50/lb or less.

Smarties and fun dip. Both are malto/dextrose based.

check out BulkNutrition.com. Go to "Bulk Supplies" in the Category Search, then click on Carbohydrates. They've got Dextrose for $1 a pound, and Maltodextrin for $1.87 a pound. They're a great site. I've ordered from them many times and have never had problems; good things happen to me every time. Now get to it and keep your chin up. Don't quit no matter what. On and on and on I go...
