Default protein intake

I was wondering if anyone had a good equation for figuring out how much protein I should be taking. I know a lot but I don't want to over work my liver and kidney. I heard that I should divide my body weight by 2.2 then multiply that by 1.8. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

bullnaut

what you want to do is simply get 2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight ! So

if youR 200 pounds you want 400 grams of protein daily

6 meals = about 65 grams of protein per meal ! Simple right ?

Your safe getting 1 to 1.5 grams per pound.

REGARDING THE KIDNEY LIVER CONCERN. THERE IS NO PROOF THAT AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF PROTEIN CAN CAUSE DAMAGE. HOWEVER YOU NEED TO GET PLENTY OF WATER A MINIMUM OF 3/4 OF A GALLON PER DAY. THIS SHOULD KEEP EVERYTHING CIRCULATING WELL

ADDITIONALLY the rumors abound that there is a potential problem IMO stems from excessive CREATINE use with out enough water intake. Also that creatine becomes unstable and actually turns to CREATIN a mild poison that is the result of allowing creatine sit in a mixture of water for more than 2 hrs, this over time with moderate consumption can elavate natural CREATIN levels in the kidney and potentially cause a form of poisoning.

So dont mix creatine in the water jug, just use it 5-10 grms post work out mixed with your recovery drink.

Hope this helps
