Default supplements, everyone comment

i've been doing alot of reading, and here is what i have decided to take in my off season and the amounts, please comment on anything you have the slightest conception of, even if its just the dose.

protein - 200g a day in shakes (food adds between 75-150)
glutimene - about 25-40g a day (scooper is gone so i have to est.)
b-5 - 10-12g a day
creatine - 25grams a day
msm - 1000mg
glucosamine - 3g
chondroitin - 2.4g
HMB - 3g a day
Vit C - 1g day

HMB is new to me, B-5 hasn't kicked in yet. please add anything you think can help me prep for a monster cycle in about 6-12 weeks

All of those are too high in quantity. Glutamine at 5-15g per day is plenty. Creatine at 10g/day tops, and B5 at 5g/day is more than enough.

I agree with Frosty. In fact, I stopped reading after I read that 3/4 of your protein was going to come from shakes so that I could tell you to switch that around. Of course, Frosty beat me to it.

I dont see anything majorly wrong with him getting so much protein from shakes. A higher amount from food would probably be a little better, but its really not too much of an issue.

It sort of defeats the purpose of asking about "supplements" if they're the basis of a diet. Then they are sort of "dietary basics" as opposed to supplements.

I realize it's just semantics, but I still think whole foods should be the primary source of protein, carbs and fats.

Im not really arguing that point, only that it isnt a big deal if the majority of his protein comes from supplements.

For acne, I would start at 3-5g/day and then work up from there. I noticed results with my acne within about a week of starting B5 at less than 5g/day. I must say though, that B5 tastes like crap!

That seems like a ton of creatine. You can only supersaturate your creatine stores so much, and you can only supersaturate after exercise. So on non-exercise days it's not going to supersaturate like right after working out. 5g a day should do it, and 10g a day would probably be considered more than enough.

Vitamin C: make sure it's buffered.

Do you take your glutamine with carbs post-workout? This seems to be the best time to take it since it helps restore glycogen stores.

If you're going to do a monster cycle, then add in 1.5g/day of milk thistle to make sure your liver is working good BEFORE you start your cycle.

Get some cod liver oil. It's like fish oil, only better (important vitamins in it).
Yeah thanks Frosty...I almost turned green from drinking the Cod oil, lol! I've tried it straight from the tablespoon and f'in gagged each time. Now it's either going in my coffee or my protein shake

Just get de-odorized fish oil caps.

HMB..lol..that is still around? Don't mean to poke fun at the bro asking the question but Bob is right...that stuff is inert crap. As I remember didn't the original guy who designed HMB create it incorrectly....so that it was actually harmful to bodybuilders?

Shock

the HMB was given to me, i have about 90 pills left at 750mg a pop, so its not worth it to take/ can be harmful???

I am at about 9 days on B-5 at 10g a day, with little results. i am taking supierors 2g pills so no taste, just a huge thing to get down.

i guess i am estimateing my food intake protein as low. my problem is i can't eat alot at one sitting and i am pretty busy so lots of meals are tough. yesterday i ate
3eggs
1 cup oatmeal
2 bananas

3eggs
1 can tune (2.5 servings)
2 peaches

2 turkey sandwhichs on potateo roll plain

large serveing of pot roast
1.5 cups of mash potatoes plain

2 grilled chicken breasts
1 hamburger plain
5 coars lights (remember coars lite has .7g protein per can)

throught the day i had 4 50g shakes, some with creatine, some with glutimine some with both.

what does that look like for food intake protien? is there a good site to look up food values of crap like that pot roast?

how would you change that diet?

Too many shakes!

Save one for the middle of the night if you get up. Also, maybe include some kiwi after a few meals to make sure you are digesting and absorbing all of the nutrients from the meat you are eating.
What about cottage cheese and natty PB?

gotta agree with grizz and louie. i used to eat 2 meals and 3-4 shakes and my progress was lackluster. a couple of years ago i switched to 4-5 meals and 1-2 shakes and my progress was 10 times better. i'm sure this is true for most bros here as well. real food is much more thermogenic than shakes.
