Default Which is the best?

I was just wondering which protine powders/drinks you guys use for post workout. I was doing a muscle milk rtd and am now doing a Isopure RTD. I work at GNC that is why I do those. If you guys could give me a little input I would appreciate it. I am looking for a good balance of carbs to protine. Trying to bulk up also.

get 5 lbs. of pure dextrose for about $3

get your choice of whey protein isolate (isopure is good, but expensive)
you don't want meal replacements or anything with alot of fat or carbs in it. Think pure whey isolate.

Now, you've got the ingredients. Add 40-80 grams of dextrose with 40 grams whey isolate. Mix. Drink right after lifting your ass off. Add creatine if you like, 10-15 grams. Monohydrate is cheap and works well enough.

right after a workout, items like dextrose and maltodextrin are good because they cause a spike in blood sugar that will be followed by a spike in insulin

during the day, that's a bad thing, because large insulin spikes are typically accompanied by fat deposition (unless you're one of those metabolic speed-demon prick bastards that I hate)

however, right after a weight training workout, insulin will shuttle your calories into the muscle cells rather than the adipose tissue, and that is what we like.

so the "general" idea is to suck down 50ish g whey protein (fast acting) such as Designer or Isopure along with about 50-75 g of fast sugar (NOT sucrose, but again, some metabolic bastards don't have a problem with regular sugar).

you take that drink about 10minutes after a workout, then within the next hour, you have a "whole food" meal that is similar in macornutrient profile, but is....well..."whole food". a dozen egg whites + oatmeal, a chunk of dead animal along with a plain baked potato (or potato + ketchup is my fave )

Bro, ketchup is liquid sugar. Check the ingredients. High Fructose Corn Syrup aka the Crack of sugars.

Dextrose is sugar derived from corn. It is very high glycemic (effective). It is also easy to find and cheap. Much better than table sugar (sucrose) or , imo, maltodextrin (which is a slightly lower glycemic sugar blend).

ketchup isn't exactly high in sugar though.

get maltodextrin and dextrose, both from vitagro. cheapest shipping. I spent $24 (including shipping) on 8 lbs of dextrose and 7 lbs of maltodextrin
