I still don't understand why you are worried about clean or not clean foods for bulking. The point of bulking is to gain weight, if you are working out regularly then any foods are good for bulking. Regardless of what is in them you will be getting rid of the bad and keeping the good. I told you this before, even with foods that are high in fat the body will still burn that fat for energy because it is the best source of energy. Unless you are competing for a competition then I would not worry about how "clean" foods are and just eat as much as you can whenever you can.

because junk food makes me feel like crap and fatigued all day with no energy left for my workouts, im not worried about the fat in them because im eating good fats and with food thats high in fat comes with high callories which is a big bonus for me.

i think this bulking term has gone right out the window, my idea of bulking isnt just to gain weight, its to gain leab weight that ill keep.

im up to eating over 4000cals now aswell which im really happy with so i am eating everything possible.

what about if your on a cycle? are not so clean foods an issue?

im eating over 350+ carbs per day now aswell which has made an entire wordl of difference in the past few weeks, this has gave me an endless amount of energy and strenght gain in the gym

Ok lets see here, you want to "bulk" up, then say you want to gain lean mass. Which is it? And junk food creates a lack of energy for you? Never heard of that or had a problem with it hell as I type this to you I'm eating half of a large pizza after finishing my protein shake. Oh yea the bulking term has not gone out the window you are not using it correctly. And when I ran my first cycle I ate anything I could get my hands on, didn't matter what it was fast food fried, baked, I didn't care what I was eating I just ate everything I could. I guess I didn't eat enough food either since I only gained 30 pounds. And the funny thing is is that I didn't gain fat I gained muscle and a decent amount of it. Yes I believe cardio will hinder your gains hence that is why I don't do it. I get enough cardio by breathing during workouts. Some may disagree with that though. And I'm confused on your idea that you think your body can't hold fat. You'd be surprised what your body can hold. And just to verify I'm not suggesting to only eat bad food, but its ok to have things that aren't the best for you.

There WILL be a difference in your physique depending on how "clean" you bulk. Pizza is NOT the equivalent of whole milk or 80/20 ground beef.

Andy, yes, those foods would be considered "clean" foods.

How much of a difference? I mean I haven't seen any difference in anything regardless of what I eat. Granted yes the pizza isn't the same as whole milk or 80/20 ground beef, but its carbs proteins cals. Maybe its just me but I eat whatever I want whenever I want and there isn't much of a difference at all. If somebody that is trying to gain as much weight as he says he's trying to gain should not be worried about eating so called "clean" he should be eating anything he can get his hands on as long as he is working out. it's that fat overweight people that sit on their asses all day that need to watch how "clean" their diet is.

The only way the body will burn fat for energy is if it is in a ketogenice state and carbs are restricted. I'm guessing on a bulking diet carbs are going to be plentiful, ergo carbs will be burned for fuel. This will ALWAYS be the way the body will react as carbs are broken down easier than fats for use as fuel.

For gaining maximum muscle and minimum fat, you should eat clean foods while bulking up. Have a cheat meal at the weekends maybe, but that should be as far as it goes. Some peoples genetics allow them to eat crap and stay lean, unfortunately I'm not one of those people.

Sorry, on reading that again it does sound a bit wrong! I meant to say burn fat as a primary source of energy.........
