That also bashes the ACLU, which yes I think they go a little far sometimes but we need someone that extreme to protect constitutional rights considering how much alot of politicians want to take them away from us. If you get hit with an illegal search and are looking at some time I bet your opinion of the ACLU would change quickly. And they protect all americans rights, a jewish lawyer there defended a Neo-Nazi who was told he couldn't hold a rally, which I feel they should be able to so long as they do not try to physically hurt or intimidate others, they have a right to their opinion. Also, if you use any illegal substance (like steroids, I think we all do here) they have been trying to fight the drug war which they find unconstitutional.

As far as an anti-christ goes Bush does the opposite of what Christ preached. Instead of giving money to the poor, he takes it from the worker and gives it to the rich. Also, he started a war based on lies, destroyed our right to live peacefully and not have cops raiding us with no warrant, does not try to make sure everyone gets healthcare, etc. But he doesn't qualify because only a little bit over 20% of his own country likes him, never mind the world, because he is a buffoon.

The only right I think the ACLU needs to defend better is the right to bear arms. I am a liberal but I think people should be allowed to possess anything below ordinance (assualt rifles, sub-machine guns, etc. are fine; people think they are crazy dangerous but a handgun is the most dangerous of guns in a civilian setting and accounts for most homicides).

How are you going to like paying higher taxes and also have ''so called" free health care shoved down your throat ?Free health care is a joke..My wife and I both work and have our own insurance and doctors we use.I want less goverment in my life not more.I do not want to give money to people who are too lazy to work,Sorry Christ does not teach this.The bible tells us this:"If a man shall not work,a man shall not eat.PS..The goverment is more than welcome to tap my phone lines..I am all for them tapping phones to help protect me from terrorism.Obama does have muslim ties,a muslim name,etc.....I will not vote for him and maybe not Mc Cain either .The democratic party wants to penalize rich americans by taxing them and in other areas and give free programs to people who are too lazy to work for anything.

First off, government healthcare could cost 1/3 to 1/2 of private insurance... why? because the administrators and CEOs make boatloads of profit off the insurance. The same goes for other programs. Second, we could drop taxes for 95% of americans by taxing the rich the way they should be, they don't need the money like the middle class. Obama will not raise taxes (and may actually lower taxes) for anyone making less than $250,000/year which is most of us. The top 1% has 50% which is way too much, we could all have many more services (and therefore more money) and a better economy if we redistributed some of that wealth (because there would be more consumers to buy products).

Also, it may say that in some part of the old testament, or even in one line in the new testament. But Christ fed the poor and hungry and once said "a rich man has as much of a chance of getting into heaven as a camel through the eye of the needle." Now I don't make literal interpretations of the bible and I think everyone goes to heaven (we don't know exactly what Christ said, the new testament is 1600-2000 years old depending on which book and has undergone changes and translations) but his feelings on keeping wealth instead of redistributing it to the poor was clear. And he was also against war (although the Catholic church has still argued you have a right to defend yourself) and against the death penalty.

Unless you are rich the republicans cost you money, they don't save it for you. They are a party for the rich, so if you are middle class (my family is upper-middle and we still don't benefit from Republicans, only the very wealthy do) and you vote for them you are voting against your own interests. You will end up working more, having less benefits, having less rights, and having less money.

No one ever said it was free health care, but the single payer systems used in europe cost less. I've been to Norway and through their distribution I knew guys that were painters and had two homes and a boat. And there still were wealthy people that had everything they wanted, they just didn't have as much more than they need.

No goverment programs work,,that is why we must rely on independent agaencies to run our business.Govmnt health care would be a joke..it would cost more because they will raise our taxes to pay for it..and everyone who is too lazy to work or here illegally will get it..we will no longer be able to see doc we choose,getting apointments will be a nightmare.You could not be more wrong about the biblen either.....everyone does not go to heaven bro..not by a long shot..the path to destruction is wide..there is only one way to the father....I am the light,the way...God helped his people win many wars.Yes, Christ fed the multitudes..and we should take care of the trully sick and elderly...I am sick and tired of liberal programs designed to make lazy worthless people even more lazy ! Government programs have worked very well before, the New Deal and its programs saved this country. And I've seen great results from government programs overseas.

As far as the bible goes that is one opinion. I'm Catholic but I agree with the eastern orthodox church on entry into heaven, I believe in the end everyone, even Lucifer himself, will be forgiven and enter into heaven. I don't believe the bible is meant to be interpreted word for word, it can't be because it often contradicts himself. The bible says God loves us, no one who loves another would cast them into hell. The Catholic church has also said no human soul goes to hell, they changed their view from the past ones. I'm not saying their, or the eastern orthodox church's, views are always right, but they have biblical scholars who have studied their way to Ph.D's in theology pondering these things; and I don't believe their is anyone on this board who has that level of biblical knowledge or that level of ability to interperet. I'll say it once again, you can't take the bible word for word because you would beleive in some contradictory ideas.

In one part of the bible Christ tells his followers to put everything they have into a shared "account" or shared wealth so it can be distributed amongst them based on need. I will look up where it is and post it if you like. That is essentially socialism.

As far as laziness goes 80% of households on welfare have at least one person working full time or longer. You can't support yourself and your family on most blue collar jobs anymore. We have become a society based on the service industry because we shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas. What happens to this welfare money then? It goes to large corporations like Wal-Mart. If you don't pay your workers enough to survive they can no longer work. And even if someone couldn't work I believe that food,shelter,clothing, and health care are basic human rights. Every american should recieve a voucher for enough credits in each of these areas to live. This could also be a great stimuli for creativity, as people who work in art etc. (which often is not appreciated while they are alive) could follow their dreams. The money for this program should come from people making over $200,000 a year and from corporate profits. There is so much money there that it is ridiculous.

And you can't tell me the rich work harder than others because they don't. Digging ditches for 50 hours a week is hard work, and for example even garbage men are essential, so is the person that bags/checks out your groceries. We are all part of an interconnected society. The rich are simply lucky. Myself for example, I was born to an upper middle class family that will pay for my education up to a Ph.D (if they have to, Ph.D programs sometimes support you) and I was born with an IQ of 148 on the WSIQ2 (and I took the real version given over the course of DAYS). I did nothing to deserve it. And even if you were born fairly poor but brilliant and worked your way up you were just lucky to be born with intelligence, or other traits that allow you to succeed (and often that is not even enough, upper middle and upper class citizens have every advantage from birth; its like they start ahead of others in a race.....). But at least I realize I am nothing but lucky, I didn't choose my parents, hell I didn't/don't even have to work to get through my education. My bills are paid for including car insurance, cell phone, housing, food, clothing, health care, and education bills. All I have to do is study. But through this I have realized that the advantaged are not "special" in any way.

So I will continue to help campaign and vote for candidates who will address these issues as well as other important ones like alternate energy and the Iraq war. This includes Obama and the local democratic US senate candidate; both of whom I campaign for.

Illegals do not pay taxes because they do not get paid with checks..they get paid with cash....what planet have you been on ?
