CBS Reveals Copies of Kerry Senate Documents

(2009-09-17) -- CBS reporter Dan Rather plans to reveal copies of documents on tonight's Evening News that demonstrate that John Forbes Kerry may have sought to evade service in the U.S. Senate due to his privileged position as a "Fortunate Son" and a presidential candidate.

The documents, all dated within the past year, show a record of scores of missed votes and missed committee hearings. In addition, copies of payroll records appear to indicate that Mr. Kerry continued to draw his senate salary during the time of his absense, according to an unnamed CBS source.

Mr. Kerry responded to the allegations by saying, "Is there any American who still trusts Dan Rather?"

"Mr. Rather is a Texan like President Bush," said Mr. Kerry. "This is just another mean-spirited partisan attack orchestrated by Karl Rove with the cooperation of the biased media. Mr. Bush doesn't want to talk about substantive issues, like how I defended this country as a young man in Vietnam."

I heard on NPR today that this Karl Rove is being investigated for the editing of these records and providing them to the media. This wouldnt be the first time he did something like this.....the dude is a master of this type of dirty politics. Remember he bugged his own office , then reported it as though the dems were doing it ?

I hope they find out that this is true and Bush loses what little bit of credibility he has left..

Investigated by who? If this was the case don't you think CBS would offer up their source? Most believe Burkett was the Kinkos Memo Bandit. He lives like 30 min from the Kinkos in question.

Burkett has a long history of lying and fabricating stories about the President and the Texas Guard. He has been discredited by virtually everyone, including the Natl Guard, Texas legislators and investigators.

Burkett is clearly involved. The reason Rather won't reveal his source is because it would absolutely confirm that he is a tool of the Democratic party rather than an objective newsman (though everyone already knew this). The fact that the CBS producer on this story has been after this story for 5 years tells you everything you need to know about the objectivity of CBS News.
