Political Discourse: This is a discussion on republicans within the Discussion forums, part of the extensive steroid information at MESO-Rx; I hear that the republicans are changing there elephant to a gerbil.... Is this true Bob...
While some of my views are shared with the Rep party, I no longer consider myself a Rep. They have abandoned the issues that are important to me. And lest you think Im a Dem, because Ill slit my wrists before voting for any of those liberal dirtbags. If the Reps would go back to what they originally believed in (and actually follow through on their promises): small govt, lower taxes, strong immigration policy - if they did that, then I would consider myself a Rep again. Till then, I think they are just as corrupt and useless as the Dems.
BTW, about the gerbil comment. How about the Dems having a homo as the chair of the senate finance committee? And we could probably debate Hillarys sexual orientation, as well.

The difference being that most Dems don't outwardly condemn homosexuality while taking dick inwardly.
The truth here is neither the Democrat or Republican parties are rightly named anymore. The names are simply names and no longer describe how a particular candidate will govern. It seems like today it's one party called " The I don't care what you think, I got elected and I'll vote how i feel, and not bother with asking my constituency anything party". They're all out for their own interest and legacy. We need reform, and fresh faces, and we need it bad.

Your right, a Democrat 45 years ago was more to the right than the Republicans of today.

I feel your frustration BS. I'm not enamored with any of the republican candidates. All the dems have are the usual socialists. Maybe Newt will run. He seems the best option.
