| | Are we too tolerant these days? Do you think that our views of what we consider to be politcally correct and our actual sensitivity for intolerance has been taken too far to the extreme? Shouldn't we be intolerant of some things?
I think that our strides to be ever politically correct has left out much of the aspect of true life. It seems that we are shooting ourselves in the foot time and time again as americans, all just for the sake of comming acrossed as a bigot. When it comes to things such as race and religion, politics and science, it always seems undignified to say what comes to mind because certain people may find what you say offensive. But, in the process, I feel we are loosing out on a lot of potential solutions for real life problems. I'm having trouble trying to appropraitely articulate my thoughts but you may understand what I mean.
Let me at least finish by saying that I am in no way a hate monger. I'm just often times befuddled by the workings of modern society and civilization in the United States. |

| | | Again, I agree wtih you. America has become a cultural of pussies who are scared to death to say what is really on their mind for fear of being a racist or a bigot! It makes me sick. If you don't like me, tell me you don't like me, because I sure as shit will tell you if I don't like you.
I would love to see a Presidential candidate stand up and say to his political opponent "you know what, fuck you and the horse you rode in on.....you are a goddamn idiot."
Now we are banning red ink in schools because it makes the kids scared of failure......GOOD!!! We are banning dodge ball because it teaches the cool kids to pick on the nerds!!!! BULLSHIT....IT SHOULD BE TEACHING THAT NERD TO STAND UP AND KNOCK THE FUCK OUT OF SOMEBODY!!!

| | | Agreed, agreed and agreed! Personally, I have not heard ANYONE say that they think we're going down the right path. This begs the question that if the people don't want it this way then why do we keep reelecting these idiots who make policies like that?
I personally LOVE intolerance when it's not ridiculous, such as race hate, gender hate etc. I'm talking just about general, everyday stuff. For example...yesterday during lunch we all gathered in the break area (as usual) to eat. Everyone was discussing what to watch for a movie (we get 1 1/2 hour lunches) One guy walks in and puts in some extreme snowboarding video and flops on the couch. Everyone was grumbling but no one said anything so I did. I told him that no one wants to watch that lame ass video except for him. Pull it out and put in what the rest of us want to watch! He didn't like it but he respected the opinion of the group. THAT's the way it should be!

What you guys fail to realize is that we live in a world rife with intolerant victimization. Corporate victimizers make victims of young and old, ruthlessly victimizing, leaving victimized victims in their horrible wakes. These intolerant evildoers must be victimized themselves with the extremest of predjudice. The tolerant victims of the intolerant must be nurtured tolerantly. Intolerance must not be tolerated.

| | | Intolerant:
(1) Unwilling to tolerate differences in opinions, practices, or beliefs, especially religious beliefs.
(2) Opposed to the inclusion or participation of those different from oneself, especially those of a different racial, ethnic, or social background.
No, I think as a greater society, we are FAR TOO intolerant. Intolerance is the sign of a weak mind. There is only one thing I am intolerant of and that is intolerance |

| | | Why should we be tolerant? Should I kill you because you have a different belief than me? No, but I don't have to like you. I don't have to accept it. I'm right and you're wrong. No, your ideas don't have the same validity as mine. You may be entitled to an opinion, but yours is wrong which means your beliefs are stupid. |
