Default Any generic brands of Nizoral?

There are generic brands for just about everything but so far I haven't seen one for Nizoral yet. I purposely go to Walmart and Target just for that very reason. I really trying to save some money instead of getting the brand name. Also is there any way to get the prescription strength Nizoral without the prescription?

I don't know if you're looking for something at your neighborhood drugstore or what but if you just do a search for "ketoconazole 2%", that being the active ingredient in Nizoral, you'll find generic brands on the net. I didn't do any price comparisons since I don't know what you're used to paying now but it's worth a shot.

You can buy Ketoconazole Powder which is the active ingredient in Nizoral, and make your own out of your favorite shampoo.

Here's a website that offers it:

Yeah can't find one that doesn't require a prescription and most won't just give one for what is deemed an un-legitimate reason.

Even more interesting. Wonder if I can find the online formula to create my own shampoo or do I just add it to my existing favorite shampoo.

Just add it to your existing favorite shampoo, there is no formula to follow. The advertisement on the website I included was stating that by adding 1 gram to 32ozs. of shampoo will produce a 1% solution. Prescription strength is 2% so I assume just add 1 gram to 16ozs. to get approx. 2% solution.

im not sure if your math is right on this. 1 gram is 1% of 16 ounces. if thats so than it would be 2 grams to 32 ounces. I might be wrong but I think 1 gram to 16 ounces is a lot higher concentrations than 2 grams to 32 ounces.
