Default DNP question for conciliator

... or anyone with a lot of DNP knowledge. Is the amount of DNP plasma level correlated with the amount of water retained? ie: Does one ingesting 600mg/day of DNP retain more water than one ingesting 200mg/day, given all other factors are the same? The reason is that my lack of weight loss may be explained by the fact that I have upped the dosage by 200mg whenever plasma levels have peaked, therefore whenever I should see a drop in the scale via fatloss, water has increased because of an increased dosage. Does that make sense?

From all that I've read and seen, the severity of the sides increases when you up the dose. I figure that this would stand true with the water retention also. But hey, what do I know. Conciliator will chime in here soon.

Yes, it makes sense. Since water retention is probably tied to the vasodilatory repsonse to heat production, and since you produce more heat as the dose increases, I would say yes, that you would probably hold more water as the dosage increases (and as a given dosage accumulates over a week).

Sides increase with dosage, but I dont think there is a strong correlation between dosage and water retention. For me, Ive never really noticed any substantial water retention whether I was at 200mg or 600mg.

Good, that should explain my inability to drop weight despite having a decent diet. I guess everyone who dropped enormous amounts before going off cycle were a) heavier to begin with so weightloss was more pronounced and b) did not hold as much water as I do (my face looks like i've been eating chinese buffets for every meal and i'm at 11% bodyfat)

Just another thought: Wouldn't decreased glycogen levels, and weight reduction from such, offset the weight gain from increased subcutaneous water retention?

I don't think it's just subcutaneous, it's primarily vascular. In my experience, no, the drop in glycogen is not enough to compensate for the increase in water weight elsewhere.

Also, keep in mind that there appears to be something that causes fat cells to hyperhydrate after mobilizing fat, possibly in an effort to maintain cellular volume. Lyle McDonald has talked about this. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the water that you lose after your cycle is intracellular water from adipocytes. This has been termed a "woosh" and it's something that seems to happen with all diets.

You mean the "water gain" that is made after a PSMF? I dropped about 40lbs on psmf, then went back up 10, but still looked like I was down 40, clothes felt the same..I own all of Lyle's e-Books.. He's the man..

No, that's water gain/loss having to do with insulin and the kidneys. I'm talking about when you're dieting and weight loss stops, even though you're sure you're creating a caloric deficit and losing fat. Then, randomly, you weigh yourself and find you're several lbs lighter. The "woosh" is a loss of water weight that comes from adipocytes.
