doc...liver test ?

taking 50mg winny ed and want to get a monthly liver check... it that a normal thing to do..just walk into your docs office and ask for a liver test.. is there any right way to go about doing this?? just dont want to seem shady..

shady or not does not matter. as long as you are paying, or insurance is paying, they won't say anything. it is your right to request any test you feel you need. also, the doctor patient confidenciality clause comes in. they cannot report you to police or authorities for your own health, or the tests you request. don't worry about asking the doc for the tests every month. if he says something just tell him you are being safe.

I'm just wondering also, My doc has always asked why because he said he needs to put down a good reason for the insurance so they will pay. He said that blood work is very expensive and he doesn't want me stuck with the bill.

So what do you all who get tested say to your doc? What do the doc's put down so the insurance will pay.

You should'nt need a reason at all. However, my doctor knows what I am up to and I get myself checked regularly. Just to be safe IMO.

tell them that your feeling really fatigued and liver disease runs in your family, and your paranoid about it, and want your blood work done, and won't be happy until you see your blood results.
