Default Doctor / patient privacy

I'm just curious. If you doc has "proof" that you do steroids (i.e. blood test / urine test) whether you admit to it or not does he have any "right" to notify the police or anything? He has to keep it private right?

He can't notify the police, but I believe some are obligated to notify your insurance company... I think.

Anyone?

What If I just drop that doc and get a new one before he does that? Or tell him I'm off steroids and will never do them again then get a new doc?

Correct...never admit you've cycled aas to a doctor, you will be grabbing your ankles with health insurance hassles in the future. Also, according to HIPPA laws, a patient can request that information told to the doctor be removed from their patient record.

Really? So If I just call him and say "take that blood test out of my record" he has to remove it?

Before I ever took aas I went to my doc and told him I was going to do a cycle of test. I just said off the record between you and me. He said ok and asked me exactly what I was going to take. He wanted to do blood work before during and after to keep on eye on my test levels. I let him and he made sure everything was in line. Nothing ever happend. Anything you tell your doctor has to stay between you and him. Privacy is such a big thing these days he is a doctor i'm sure he knows better then to break the privacy act and say anything. I would just be honest and let him know this "off the record".

Before i started my first cycle I asked my doc if we could talk about it "off the record", and he said "sure". We talked, he freaked and did not want to see me ever again Fuckin poindexter. He did, however say to me that "since this was off the record, i won't put this in your file" so I figure there has to some kind of prohibition against them reporting things that you specifically request be kept private between you and him/her. I would always just make clear before hand that this is strictly private and then if it does get on your record you could probably sue their ass off. Of course, i'm sympathetic to all of the docs out there that have to make that call....cus i know they can get their asses in a sling real quick...but I'm STILL pissed about this. If he had reported me I would have shown him that while 'roid rage may be a myth, good ol' country ass whipping's are a definite and quantifiable reality!

Prodigy06 has had some problems with his doc sort of busting his balls about the whole subject..

My mom has ran a couple of private doctors offices.. She says if it's on your medical record it's pretty much "public knowledge" in a sense...the sense being that those who REALLY want to see it can.

I plan to see my doctor soon, I'm going to ask for certain things and ask certain questions and when he jumps to a conclusion I will ask him off the record.. I've been with my primary a looong time, we're cool.. Good luck, and I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for sharing that guys.
I never admited that I ued to him. I went to him for a totally unrelated matter which turns out was absolutely nothing. But now he's calling me saying that he wants to schedule MORE tests and I'm like "why? I don't do steroids and the reason I went to you in the 1st place turned out to be nothing." So... he obviously wants to take this to some level I didn't even intend to get near. I called his nurse and told her to 1. take the tests out of my file and 2. never call me again.
I'm changing doctors.

No but the test won't show that you're "on." Anything you TELL your doctor that he/she writes into your chart can be removed if requested by the patient.
