Drugs testing for AS

A friend of mine is a 20 yr old pro rugby player, hasn't made his premier league debut yet and has never taken any as before. Given his position (8) he feels he needs to stack on some mass if he's realistically gona make it. Bearing in mind he undergoes drugs testing, is his only option hgh? Any input anyone? Cheers
