Experience with Modafinil?

Have anyone used Modafinil before? How did you like it? What were the sides? What was the dosage that you used?

Modafinil is also known as Provigil. Anyone have experience and can share the effects observed?

It's great stuff. Keeps you alert & focused and gives you energy all day. I'm far more productive when taking Provigal.

Its not a stim... wont give you energy... it chemicly doesnt work that way. Its non addictive... unless you are a douche and think that you cant function period without it. but thats your psycological issue, not mine. Ive taken it several times through a connection I have... got a bunch on hand that I keep for studying or when I need to be awake. It doesnt stim you into an alert mode it just... wakes you up... its werid... one min you are sleepy and the next you are awake. I only take it when I have tests or when I have to be up early. works for like 6 hours I belive but usualy by that time you should be up anyway.. You dont crash... and there is no withdrawl. Great studdy aid... some psychs are prescribing it for ADD now too as a non stimulant alternative to dex, ritalin, ect... another non stim add med is stratera... but I havent heard much promising info out of that one... sorry... off topic...

Well I just got some from ASA* and I want to take it when I do heavy leg days. I first came across idea when overheard some powerlifters at gym talking about how alert and focus they felt when doing heavy lifts on only 100mg of Modafinil first thing in the morning.

I have read extensively about the neurolical cognitive enhancement abilities of this drug as well. Read in a finance magazine how top management executives from fortune 500 companies were taking modafinil to feel alert, focused, confident and improve cognitive abilities. I also know that they are popular with university students as well.

It DOES have mild stimulatory activity (in me), it definitely DOES keep me alert, it definitely DOES increase my energy levels and it definitely DOES cause me to crash. Just my personal experience.....

Im almost 100% positive that it doesnt act as a stim... I dont think it acts on that pathway. The surge of energy is probobly just you being awake suddenly.

I dont know how this drug could be used as a BB or powerlifting drug.. seems pointless to spend extra cash on somthign like this... why not just get a real stim like ephedra, or do some digging and get some adderal XR's.

Well first of all I know a "supplier" that has it a great price so I don't think it is a waste. I don't see how it can be considered a waste when there a many "supplement" companies that sell supplements that increase focus and awareness to assist in weightraining. There are athletes that are rumored to take Modafinil for the increased focused and awareness and also because of the feeling like it "helps them get more in the zone".

Plus I am very much getting into nootropics supplements and pharmaceuticals. I love the research I have seen on Modafinil and it's reported effects on cognitive passageways.

I believe Modafinil increases uptake of norepinephrine, which would account for its stimulatory effects. These effects are subtle though, nothing like what you get from caffeine, it's difficult to describe. It seems to increase neural drive as well cos I can always lift more weight and run faster when I'm taking Modafinil.

I know and that is why I am very interested in adding it to my cycle. Starting a cutting major fat loss cycle for about 8 weeks first. Taking 4 weeks off and then taking a 12-14 week cycle for lean body mass and some hardening.

ASAP is monitoring and administring both cycle for me. Hope to make some great gains.

It sucks .. i still have 5g powder left and i won't use it .. I gave it plenty of chances at 100mg to 200mg caps and it made me feel like shit .. Cheap as hell but not worth it IMO .. BTW it works on the HPTA and is not a nervous system stimulant but sure feels worse than one feeling like shit

Well I am still going to give it a try. Some people believe or not don't respond to AAS, rHGH, stimulants and others. Never going to be a 100 percent of responders to any drug or supplement. But I am willing to give it a try.

Modafinil doesn't have any effect on testicular function, so there is no suppression like there is with AAS.

The bottom line is that no one including the manufacturer knows exactly how modafinil works - it seems to affect several neurotransmitters and other compounds selectively in the brain.

I've tried it for a couple of weeks at about 200mg every morning. Its effects were noticable, but not dramatic. Mostly it felt like I'd had a cup of expresso, but without any of the physiological effects of caffeine. I try to avoid taking it too late in the day as it will keep you awake even when you're trying to sleep.
