How long does it take for finasteride to start to grow hair back? Been off cycle for awhile and been taking 2 mgs a day for 4 months with no results. Or does it not work for some people.

From my experience it does not grow hair back, it just slows the loss rate. You will need to wait at least a year to make a call on whether it works for you

yeah, the real strength of finesteride is keeping hair from falling out (either from natural DHT production, or elevated DHT from being on a cycle). So definitely use it during a cycle.

It *can* cause hair to re-grow, but that doesn't mean that it will. It's depends on the person. And it's incredibly unusual for people to recover all the hair that they lost.

I would expect to run it at least 6 months, perhaps as long as 9 to know the full effect.
