They aren't forearm splints, you probably have tendinitis. I had it real bad over the summer and had to do 4 weeks of physical therapy and on top of that build my arms back up. There are these bands that you can buy at any sporting goods store that wrap on the base of your forearm right above the elbow and put pressure on the tendons that run to the elbow joint to relieve the stress that is put on the tendons while you lift. They helped me for a bit but I couldn't wear them because they constricted my arms too much. Try heating up your arm before you go to lift and icing it down after. If the pain is ridiculous already I'd suggest taking a week or two off of any workout that irritates your forearms. It sucks bro, I know how it is,usually it was skull crushers that bothered me, I now have to use all cables for my tricep workouts because it flares it up if I do free weights for some reason.

It's not normal? I call it a pump. It goes away, I make it hurt again, I feel good, and repeat. No? I rarely do direct forearm work, but I do a lot of heavy shrugging, dead lifting, and rowing 4x's a week...they always get that sharp pain.. My grip goes before the pain in my forearm gets to me...I have a high pain tolerance...should I be worried I'm going to rip something?

First, take 2 weeks off from doing the things that hurt them. When working triceps, get some elbow sleeves, warm up really really well, more than normal, and ice afterwards. Should be alright, if gets worse, see a doctor. He'll probably just tell you to rest, ice, and rehab it.
