I'm never in the weight room for more than 45min and usually 3x a week so I would average about 2 1/4 hours a week

How old are you? Because I'm 46 and find myself over training at least once a month, sometimes twice with my routine @ 5 hrs, where I have to take an extra day off. One things for sure though, I don't set any speed records when I lift.

39, started lifting 26 years ago. As a teen I did the 2 hour 5x a week thing but now that would kill me.

I change my routine a lot, but it seems that I do best on a 4 day a week lifting schedule. I change the body part split within those 4 days along with volume.

But, I have evolved over the years to limit my weight training to 30-40 minutes per session. I rest little and keep moving. So, 2 - 2.5 hours a week.

I do a lot of cardio--on average 6 days a week for 20-40 minutes per session, usually cycling (stationary and mountain biking).

When I was younger 1.5-2.0 hour workouts were normal 6 days a week. What a waste of time!

I didn't start lifting till my 1st year in college @ age 19. Between running and weight training I did about 12 hrs a week then, just crazy, No wonder I couldn't get my body weight over 200 then. Now I'm 250 @ 12% bf.

Just back in after six week break, but still doing what I was before. Mon, Tues, Thur, and Fri. I do cardio on wednesday. My workouts last about an hour but sometimes I stick around to do calves, abs, etc. So probably 5 hours a week.

I openly admit that I overtrain..probably the biggest reason I am a hard gainer.I was a sunday through thursday guy @ 1;15 per day taking friday and saturday off.Now i have been lifting sun, mon, wed, frid for 1 hour. When I am on cycle though I know my recovery is better so i will push heavier weights and train longer ..more like 1.5 hours 4-5 times per week.dennis

Thats all you need while on juice, push heaver weights. That in itself will require more recovery.
Dorian Yates always said, "Concentrate on making each set perfect, pushing to failure and beyond on the final set. Do not be tempted to add more sets! Instead, try to set a rep or weight goal for yourself every workout, strive to be better each time you go into the gym."
