Default Remeron side effects?

Any feedback on side effects of Remeron? It's not a SSRI so I hope it has none of the associated effects on libido.

Not very effective for depression for most people and causes a big surge in appetite. Might be better for anxiety than depression. Kind of like buspar. But no sexual side-effects.

Are you sure it was increased resistance to alcohol ? It could be Hoggatha.

Default paxil dick?

I had the same problem with paxil....I couldn't cum no matter WHAT. Sounds like fun...fucking for an hour straight, but talk about frustrating...big giant blue balls. I would go a week or two and couldn't get off no matter what, and THEN when I finally did, it didn't even feel all that good. You'd think it'd be like an earthquake, but it wasn't anything even worth mentioning. It never went away totally, but after a few months, kinda mostly fixed itself.

Try adding 150mg or 300mg of wellbutrin to it, or switch to another ssri (wellbutrin worked better/fewer effects for me).

Also, Paxil helped me put on pounds. Not the good kind, btw. Made me all sluggish. Lost weight on Prozac. I've heard that your results may vary.

get off the meds guys. find out what's depressing and deal with it. why are you depressed? really. think about it. deal with the cause(s) and don't take the meds to 'drown' them out. get some psychotherapy and really, as painful as it might be, try to determine the cause of your depression and eradicate it.

it's sad but docs are way to quick to prescribe ssri's instead of dealing with the issues behind the depression. but this is so symptomatic of our society. hey, let's take the easy way out again. let's stand in front of the microwave jumping up and down, screaming 'hurry, hurry', etc...

using ssri's for your depression is like taking pain-killers for your knee pain instead of trying to figure why your knee hurts in the first place and taking care of the problem. the knee problem is still there, you just can't feel it. the depression is still there. the meds only mask it. find out the cause, easier said than done (and i do speak from personal experience), and get rid of it. otherwise, you'll be stuck taking the shit meds and diminishing your sex drive, your ability to bust a nut, the quality of your relationships, etc... blah, blah, blah... why do i get the feeling that nobody will even listen?

This is AMERICA dammit. We're entitled to a quick fix and some instant gratification. If you don't like it, you can move to Russia.

paxil and prozac are the worst as far as sexual dysfunction...lexapro and wellbutrin are the best. wellbutrin isn't an ssri like paxil though...so i would talk to your doc, wean off of the paxil while at the same time wean on to the lexapro...if lexapro isn't covered, go to celexa. workin' in a pharmacy, i've heard lots of complaints about paxil, prozac, zoloft, and some about effexor, but none so far about lexapro.
also...just as a side note for anyone taking an ssri...since a lot of guys have trouble sleeping while taking some of the "supplements" talked about on this board i thought i'd mention it. stay away from trazodone as a sleep aid while on an ssri, it can actually cause just the oposite effect and give you a woody that won't go away...literally, to the point of severe pain and permanent damage...just a heads up.

She needs to read then and understand that that inability to come to orgasm is common. Stopping Paxil abruptly can fuck some people up.
