how to dispose of a syringe

when I dispose of my syringes I cut the pin up into pieces and put them into a can and melt them, what are some other ways to dispose of them, I think if you use you should know how to dispose of them properly,

Just drive down the street with a bag full of them and throw them out the window! J/K

I always put the caps on the needles and save them in a bag till I have a bunch ,then put them in a box and throw them in a dumpster at a construction site!

I cut the pins in small pieces and drop them with the barrel in a 12 oz can and crush the can. I take that crushed can and drop it in the recycle collector for cans. They will be melted down soon enough. My work has collection sites for cans, plastic,batteries, you name it.

I like to use an old protien jug as my sharps container. I always recap my needles and fill the jug. Then I pitch the jug in a nearbt dumpster.

Anybody ever just flush them down the toilet, seems safe and easy, but would like more input.

Take em to a hospital or a doc office,i save just the needles and when i get alot of them thats where i take em, feels kinda weird but i know no kids will find them and hurt themselves

I just throw them out in the trash. It goes straight to the landfill. Why go to all the trouble doing anything else?

1) not nice in case your friendly "sanitation engineer" gets poked

2) the police can legally search your garbage without notifying you and without a warrant. And then totally F you. This has been upheld about a billion times in court.

Where I live, our city garbage trucks lift and empty our trash cans with mechanical arms attached to the truck. There are no "sanitation engineers" that can get poked.

i like to sprinkle mine along the beach or at the park...jk, i'm sorry i couldn't resist. i just make cure that i,ve recaped it, then put it back in the wrapper and crubble some paper around it so my parents don't find it in the trash.
