Default How can you tell if your hair is thinning?

I am just wondering what is the indications that one might experience when their hair is thinning? Everytime I wash my hair I loose at least 10-20 hairs when I run my hand through my hair a few times with shampoo. My hair does not seem to look like it is thinning....as I have a very thick head of hair. I just want to make sure that it is not....What are some tell tale signs......including the regular amount of hair a person will loose on a regular basis?
Thank you

Default Look In The Sink

When your hair is dry, run your fingers thru your hair over the sink and see how many hairs fall in. If it seems like a lot, well, now you know.

Over the course of a day your head loses anywhere from 100-200 hairs normally. Its part of the regeneration process. You will notice mostly around your crown and temple if your hair is actually thinning but if you aren't noticing a different in the mirror than I don't think there is much to worry about. Think about how many hairs a girl looses when she brushes her hair. The little bit that comes out on your hand during the shower is nothing compared to that. I don't think you have to worry, its normal to lose some hairs in the shampooing process but it doesn't mean you are thinning. When you start thinning, the first place you will notice it is in the mirror, not in the shower.

Thumbs up

The average person loses 150-200 hairs every day. Now when you're washing your hair and are finding 40-50 hairs in your hand then I'd be worried. 10-20 is normal.

I'm definetely losing my hair and have had people mention it to me which stresses me out. So now it seems I have two reasons for hair loss, DHT and stress

I'm going to go get a script tommorrow for some nizoral and finasteride. I plan on running this shit for the rest of my life!

Does anyone know if Finasteride and bactrim can be used in conjunction? I'm going to see my doctor tommorrow with a christmas list of scripts i'll be needing from him.

Bactrim
Nizoral
Finasteride
Ditropan (excessive sweating)
Robinul (also for sweating if the above doesn't work)

Sorry to hijack this thread. But i'd love to know how people are going with the finasteride and nizoral combination. Have you seen any improvement?

If your forehead seems to be getting bigger or you feel a cold breeze on the back of your head, your hair is thinning.

Just cut it short or shave it off.

I'm also about to see my doc for some nizoral and finasteride. My last cycle killed my hair. That and stress, I'd had major stess the last few months, probably shouldn't have cycled looking back now. Hopefully the combo will help, just wish insurance covered the cost of the meds...lol...Dr. Nick

www.hairlosstalk.com.

The reason I love that site is because it's much like this very board. No bullshit, straight to the point with priceless information.

They've got quite a few different regimes with varying results.
