I go over 400 grams of healthy carbs year round and still manage to lose weight during summer. Amazing, isn't it? Anyways, i'm going to cut down a few carbs and up my monosaturated fat intake and see how it goes. Most carbs will be consumed in the morning, pre and post-workout and then some veggie carbs at supper.

Your body eventually uses protein as it's main energy source. Your goal is to remain nitrogen positive so you're body is using what you put in it for energy instead of your muscles and their glycogen. You get used to the feeling more or less...

PSMF suggest using ECA for both energy and appetite suppression.. the crazy shit about PSMF is the low calorie status :P

I actually have more energy and stamina. The first week I felt sluggish, but after that my energy came from ketones. My body switched to fat as its energy source.

I eat tons of green vegges; more than when I was not limiting carbs. For example, if I go to Outback, instead of getting a potato, I get brocholi. I eat tons of salad.

Dennis - I do not actually count my carbs. I try not to eat any and by doing that I am sure I rarely exceed 50. I get the carbs I do eat from things like peanut butter that I eat by the spoonful. I eat tons of green vegges and berries and those things have carbs, but not many. I like to eat berries and cottage cheese. There are a few carbs in that. I eat nuts and pork-skins. I never eat bread or sweets. I add a little BBQ some times to things I grill or other sauces, but not much. My doctor a couple of years ago told me I was pre-diabetic and I shut the carbs down and all my blood sugar issues went away. The key for me was not to try to avoid carbs and fats. By allowing myself to have fats (including saturated, but not trans-fats), I can stick to the diet. I consume red-meat without fear. My cholesterol has improved. After a few weeks my body switched to using fat as it primary energy source and I have never looked back. I have more energy and stamina. Nutrition is like Religion and Politics. People have strong opinions and there is a lot of conflicting data. I am not trying to convert anyone, I just wanted to know if there was anyone else out there that agreed with me. My personal experience has convinced me that low-carb is a healthy way to live. I use to get heartburn and jock-itch all the time. I never get either of those things anymore. I feel like that is my body telling me I am doing something right. I never get sick. M whole house can be sick and I won't get it.. I believe in it.

Leaner but slower gains due to the stable blood sugar levels and your body switching to fat and protein for energy. The best way for me though has been cycling my carbs. So 150 a day Mon-Fri, and 300-500 on Sat, 200-300 on Sun. I use my carbs pre work out (apple or orange 20-30g) and post work out (waxy maize 80g), the rest is greens with a couple of meals, whatever else sneaks in due to what im eating. I make sure to have a really depleting workout on Fridays..

Do you know that if your body doesn't get carbs for energy it then burns fat. That conversion from carb burning to fat burning takes about 3 days. So unless your about 3% BF or less you will have energy.
