I Was Denied !!!!

For a very good and interesting reason.
I appliead for access to a 'store' that was located outside of the USA. The only two question on the aplication was: 1) what state do you live in, and, 2) what country. I emailed the answere.. A southwesern state, and in the USA.
To my surprise they rejected me calling my state HOT.
I emailed them back and asked why my state was hot. I have to give it to them in the customer service dept, they answered all my questions within four hours. Anyhoo, my state was HOT because, and this is a copy and paste:


hello and a nice day.

The difference is that on the East Coast the point of entry is JFK
airport. For the West Coast it's the San Francisco port.
Actually we have no custom problems on the East Coast as the customs
aren't that strict there.
But the San Francisco port is very notorious, has a very high seizure rate.
Therefore we strongly suggest using an East Coast address.

I did not know this. Also in their email was a listing of three 're-mailing' companies that reside and do business on the east coast. I would be aproved if I use thier services and address. I sort of smelled something fishy, but the 'retailer' has a five star rating from its thousands of users. The remailer service charges 15 dollars a month, I only looked at one of the sites but assume they are all the same, plus postage and fees to get from the east coast to the southwest. Do you think it would be wise to post the links to these businesses or keep it under hat? I would not want them to be under any scrutiny.

The way I see it and the companies I have dealt with usually explain it this way. If it gets seized they will re-send the order to another address, if it still gets seized they will refund the money. If this is a good company like you claim, then this should be there standard practice. Never heard or read of such HOT states or such. Good luck

They were probably losing to much shipping to that coast. The west coast was hot even before ORD, especially from China. I would imagine it hasn't gotten any better since.
