Default Is Accutane worth it?

What do you guys think of accutane? Is it worth it to use if acne is pretty bad? I dont have enough acne on my face to justify using it.,but my back ,shoulders. chest and arms are really bad. I definetly need to do something about it, cause there is not a fuckin chance i would take my shirt off in front of anyone with it.

How long would it take to clear up once i started taking it on average? Thanks

I used it for a month and it helped alot but unfortunately I have some scarring that I don't think it will heal. But I was like you, there was no way I'd take my shirt off in front of anyone, it was so horrible, I mean how am I supposed to hook up with a girl when I'm uncomfortable getting naked. I took half the recommended dosage (50mg ED) and I honestly had no sides. Well maybe a little dry skin, but it was nothing. I stopped cause I started GH and I want to see how that works on the skin.

Accutane at lower dosages is worth it IMO. I can't speak of dosages between 80-100mg though.

I agree

I just started at 20mg/day a couple days ago bc I have it on my back and shoulders, I'm gonna see how that works

A dose under 50mg is what I think is best for guys using AAS

I use Accutane. I started at 50mg ED and it helped a little. I ended up going to 75mg ED to get good results. That's when I started to get some of the drying effects. There are people that can use it successfully at low doses. If you decide to use it, it's a good idea to read up on all the sides especially if you are having unprotected sex with you wife or girlfriend or there is a chance that they might use it and may become pregnant.

You might want to try nair or jantana hair remover on infected areas (not your nips) leave on for 8 minutes and rub off then take shower.this really knocks the achne out quick on me..like less than 24 hours.Cheaper and easier to get than acutane too.If you try this let us know the results..d

It will take a couple months. Longer if you dose it to low.

I used accutane and had great results. My back was so bad it hurt just to take a shower. I don't remember the dosage used. I was under the care of a physician and had it prescribed, so i got blood work done too. Some of the blood work came back out of normal range so we cut the dosage back. If i recall correctly i was on it for 20 weeks, i think that's the norm, after one month it started to clear up.

For most people it does seem to work great. I am the exception to the rule I guess. Even at 20mg/day taken in two 10mg doses every 12 hours I had such severe sides that it took me a year and a half after stopping it to go back to normal--and I'm talking about shitting my guts out every 6 hours...this greenish, vile smelling, nasty goo!! sorry for the visual!

It dried me out really quickly and did take care of the acne! No doubt there. Keep a good lip balm around (such as Burt's Bees) and perhaps some eyedrops. The skin will also be dry so if that bothers you get some good lotion or some moisturizing body wash.

BTW, that wasn't the only bad side I had but it's a good example of how nasty that stuff can be on some folks. If you DO get any of that I'd recommend NOT continuing it. The doc and I figured that the benefits were worth it (REALLY bad acne) and I could just take some anti-diarrhea. Yeah that was a bad idea. lol

Good luck bro

I had mild acne on my back and face and took accutane two 20 mg pills for 16 weeks. This is an amazing drug and I have had very little if no problems with acne for the last 7 years. The drying of your lips sucks and I would take it during the winter if you have a choice. But the drying comes along with the drugs main effect of shrinking oil glands.

In my opinion it is a miracle drug and although some people have problems with their liver enzymes while taking it I would recommend it to everyone along with regular blood tests.
