Don't you have tubes hooked up to draw the fluids away from your chest and into a containment chamber?

Bro, Just keep taking your pain meds, have someone by your side, and if you had a tube shoved down your throat for precaution during the surgery be sure to keep a water bottle nearby during the night to keep your throat moist.

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and that you made it home safe. I did say a prayer for you at 10:15am this morning. Best wishes on your recovery. I hope you have direct tv or cable. lol

In resonse to your question in your other thread, I would guess you'll be able to start moving around with less pain in about 3-4 days. At that point you will be able to move your arms around a little bit, but will still have pain. By time you get the vest removed(7-10 days) you should be feeling better and able to move your arms around alot more. The majority of the swelling should be gone by 3-4 weeks, but all the swelling will not be gone for up to 8 weeks or so; so don't get discouraged during this time; your chest will keep looking better and better as swelling subsides.

For now, do not expect to be able to move your arms at all for 2-3 days. Get someone to even brush your teeth for you. Frankly I'm amazed that you can type.

Bro I can use my arms just fine. Its just chest pain. I feel like i was stabbed in the chest and when I breathe it hurts. I had a tube down my throat and its killing me. I have total movement of my arms right now. I wonder why, maybe my gyno wasnt too bad, and the operation wasnt as serious. It took abit over 2 hours I know that much.

PS: thanks so much for the prayer, I needed it

i'm next on the cutting board, seven grand sounds sick to me. what do you do for a living to pay for that? if you're good, and it sounds like you've always had gyno, your provider should pay for it.

You will be 1 very happy camper in about year as there will be no visable scar. No chins for about 2 months though.

It's definitely possible to move your arms, just not without excruciating pain, right? At least that's how it was for me.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life.

Mine was about the same; however I had him fix my broken nose while I was in there, so he cut me a bit of a deal. If you want the best in NYC, that is what they charge. I had acclaimed gyno surgeon dr. nadler.

Insurance rarely covers this surgery anymore. I tried for a long time to get them to pay with no luck...
