My Insurance sucks.... - MESO-Rx

My company just switched insurance companies and I get a letter in the mail stating that they were not covering the compound pharmacy where I get my test and other meds filled. They have also stopped covering my Provigil... They said that they do not cover Provigil and offerred Adderal as a preferred medicine in it's place... Is there anything one can do? I have been on Provigil for about three years (depression and shift work disorder)... Would Adderal be a safe alternative? I have never taken it before...

Adderal is for ADD/ADHD but it does help mood elevation. But if you are happy with what you have, then fight it. You need to go to the head of the department and have your doctor call them or fax them a letter.

they should have a generic for that same drug bro...and as BB said....fight it....My ex-wife had acid reflux and Kaiser would not approve her for a certain drug that was expensive...well she fought it and they eventually did...Kaiser said she would have to pay out of pocket for it which was around 500-1000 dollars a month...and it was the purple pill...

Thanks guys.. I am going to get my doctor to send in the necessary paperwork to try and keep the Provigil. Unfortunately, Provigil is not available in generic form, at least not in the USA. I guess they cover Adderall because it has a generic form... Insurance is killing the health industry...

Remember that if you have a prescription, certain drugs are allowed to be brought in or shipped into the country. So if there is a generic form of a drug, then you can have it imported for your personal use
