On the one hand you express your disdain at Victor Conte for "pushing" steroid use in sport. On the other hand, your newspaper, nytimes.com, shows an advertisement at the bottom on your editorial where readers are invited to purchase steroids from the internet pharmacy www.*************.com This is simply another example of the hypocrisy we see all the time in our society. People talk incessantly about the alleged evils of steroids in sports, yet the same people continue to spend more and more money on sports. And newspapers such as the NY Times publish anti-steroid editorials, yet continue to accept advertising money from companies promoting the sale of steroids. Which do you find more disturbing? Victor Conte "pushing" steroids on a few elite athletes? Or the New York Times "pushing" steroids to millions and millions of readers? Hopefully, you will find it appropriate to publicly condemn the New York Times in a future editorial. It's only fair. The entire view and media hype about AAS is completely ridiculous. I'm sure everyone has already heard this, but I'm going to vent anyway. Our wonderful government is spending thousands and thousands of dollars and invading our privacy all over a stinking male hormone. Think about that that, it's ludicrous. Why are Estrogen and Progesterone not schedule III drugs? We are talking about a hormone that does decrease with age and is very important to a man's overall health etc. It's not addictive and in moderate dosages isn't even very hard on your system. Hell, Accutane, Bextra, the good old former Vioxx, and many of the Statin based cholesterol drugs are way more harmful (crap Tylenol when abused is more dangerous than any AAS). I guess I just don't get it, but I just had to get this off my chest (and believe me I'd really like to write a 10 page article about the absolute hypocrisy and sheer stupidity our government practices regarding this issue.)
