Needle Length

For glute injections, many sources recommend using a 1 1/2 inch needle (including Pheezer's First time FAQ). For the past few weeks, I have been using only a 1 inch needle because of easy access. My body fat is approx 12%. The injections seem to be ok, but I wonder if I'm messing up by using a shorter needle. It has only been 3 1/2 weeks, so the Test & EQ haven't had enough chance to kick in yet.

Anyone with experience about using the 1 inch needles for glute injections?

1 inch needles are ok for glute injections as long as you don't have a fat ass. If you are only 12% body fat you should be ok. I am about 9 to 10% body fat and they work fine for me, actually they work better than the 1 1/2 because i always seem to hit a vein with the longer sticks in my glutes.

i'd prefer a 1.5" needle, but 1" will be OK.

i use a 25g 1" pin for everything.

23 g 1.5"ers for my glutes; 23g 1"ers everywhere else.

I always use 23g 1" for glute injections and I am about 12% bf. They seem to work fine for me I use them also for thigh shots.

I used to use 23g 1" pins for glute shots, but then I had a few questionable injections where I thought some of the oil might have been in the fat and not muscle. So I switched to 25g 1.5" pins, but the 25g is too hard to push oil through, so I settled on 23g 1.5" pins for both glutes and quads, although with the quads, I don't go all the way in, only about 1.25".

Absolutely no need to use 1.5" pins unless your a boombalaty. I take that back...if your going to shoot 4+cc's in your ass then I would use 1.5"....I've done 5 1/2 before with very minimal soreness. Like most of the bros said 25g 1" is just fine....shoulders, tris, bis & lats I sometimes use 25g 5/8".
