Opening ampules

I did my first test inj. today and i had a hard time with opening the amp. I used the Clic amp opener. I scored all the way around the neck and when I popped it off there was quite a bit of glass on my hand and a little in the amp. I inspected it good before I sucked into the syringe and couldnt see anything in it. When I got to the end it slurped a bit and there was a piece of glass in the tip of the needle and a good size piece in the bottom of the amp. So, I changed to the injection needle and moved the oil up and down in the syringe but couldnt see any contaminants. So that sucked a bit. I thought I was gonna waste it.
I could sure use some advice before the next. I watched the video on the website for the opener (afterwards) and they show the amp just being scored in a small spot before breaking it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

I always wrap the amp in a clean towell when i break it 1) so I don't cut my hand, 2) typically the top of the amp will shatter and the cloth will help to trap the small shards.

I always used a three sided jewlers file to score mine.

I always scored just one side of the amp, then took a pen lid and or small cloth and broke it that way. Never shattered the head once. Also some amps will have a white stripe on them I found that I didn't even have to score those, they broke reall easy.

I like to score it with a pencil eraser and then stick the ampule in my ear to break it off. Nose works as well.

At least you didn't break it off somewhere else.

I have amp opener and never have issues with glad bits, if I don't use it, generally just wrapping the head in a papertowel and snapping quickly will suffice with very little glad splatter you will get the hang of it shortely

i have been just popping them off. never had one shatter on me. (knock on wood) never had to score it with anything.. I got a good wrist action going on.
