I posted this here and on AR, just in case anyone happens to see it on both and wonders what's going on.
Anyway, I'm obviously new, so please go easy on me.
I was planning on doing my first cycle and I had a few questions as there are a couple of issues that are making me hesistant:
1) I am 20 years old. I've heard several people suggest that you should not take anything at this age. Of course, I know several people my age and younger who are juicing (some heavily) who have not displayed any issues. Thoughts?
2) I have OCD and Panic Disorder and am taking Lexapro/cipralex and Klonopin/clonazepam for each respectively. Does anyone know:
a) if there are any interactions between these medications and
b) should I just stay away because of the risk of testosterone-related issues ("roid rage" and the like) could have on my brain chemistry (and thus my OCD/Panic)?
3) Has "roid rage" ever been proven? I've read so many conflicting reports that my head hurts. Also, where I only plan on taking a small dose (in other, no "abuse"), would rage even be a factor?
4) Do you have any particular suggestions on what I should take, both during and after my cycle (PCT drugs and the like)? I was thinking about Sust, as I've heard good things about that, but I’ve also heard it can be more troublesome for a newbie than other test.
5) Some people have suggested to me that my workout routine should not change while on cycle. Is there any truth to this? I currently lift 3-4 days a week, 1-1.5 hours/day, hitting my entire body 1.5 times per week. Someone who used to be on cycle told me 6 days/2 times per week. Should I increase that while on cycle? How about post cycle?
6) I could stand to lose some pudge around the abdomen and upper torso (couldn’t everyone? ). Can I expect any results in this area from my cycle?
7) While on cycle, should I increase, decrease or maintain the same level of cardio? How about post-cycle?
8) I’m sure there’s no guideline, but is there a ballpark figure of how much muscle mass can I expect to keep?
9) Any other basic guidelines anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome aboard!
There's no need for gear at our age. How long have you been training seriously and what are your stats (height, weight, body fat % etc)??? You should change your routine every 4-6 weeks or so whether you're on cycle or not. Tell us about your nutrition and please, do yourself a favor. READ.
You seem to be quite mature so expect to get tons and tons of help from us. Just keep it up bro! Post a couple pics if you feel comfortable as well!

185-190, depending on the week
Training for 2-3 years (never really kepy track of when I started and was ill for a while, so I'm ballparking)
I've always had good metabolism and put on mass fairly easily and I find it hard to put on fat. The problem is, I feel like I'm kind of at a peak now. I'm sure my diet has to do with, though. I don't eat huge or anything, I just try 3-4 meals a day, plus at least 150 g of protein. Unfortunately, I simply haven't been following that diet for a number of reasons. Obviously that will change if I go on cycle.
Thanks for the kind words - I look forward to hearing the advice of the members around here.
EDIT: As for a photo, I don't have a camera handy and this is the only semi-recent, flexing photo I have. Sorry:

Ok, you're doing just fine bro. Keep that diet in check and gains will keep coming. No need to use gear. I've put on around 64 pounds in less than three years so have many other guys.

I just wanted to comment on the whole roid rage thing. roid rage does not exsist, not the way they make it out to be at least. ive gotten aggravated, ticked off sometimes but never rage. my theory is that "roid rage" is nothing more than a male version of pms

I was planning on doing my first cycle and I had a few questions as there are a couple of issues that are making me hesistant:YOU ARE CORRECT TO BE HESITANT.
1) I am 20 years old. I've heard several people suggest that you should not take anything at this age. Of course, I know several people my age and younger who are juicing (some heavily) who have not displayed any issues. Thoughts?KEY WORDS..HAVE NOT DISPLAYED ANY ISSUES....YET..THE ISSUES WILL ARISE LATER IN THEIR LIFE.
2) I have OCD and Panic Disorder and am taking Lexapro/cipralex and Klonopin/clonazepam for each respectively. Does anyone know: NOT SURE BUT SOUNDS LIKE A BAD IDEA TO MIX TESTOSTERONE WITH THE ISSUES YOU HAVE.
a) if there are any interactions between these medications and
b) should I just stay away because of the risk of testosterone-related issues ("roid rage" and the like) could have on my brain chemistry (and thus my OCD/Panic)?i KNEW A GUY WHO HAD PANIC ATTACKS..IT WAS VERY SERIOUS HOW BAD HE COULD FREAK OUT...TEST COULD MAKE THIS WORSE.
3) Has "roid rage" ever been proven? I've read so many conflicting reports that my head hurts. Also, where I only plan on taking a small dose (in other, no "abuse"), would rage even be a factor?RAGE CAN BE A FACTOR..TEST RAISES YOUR AGRESSION LEVEL DRAMATICALLY IN SOME.
4) Do you have any particular suggestions on what I should take, both during and after my cycle (PCT drugs and the like)? I was thinking about Sust, as I've heard good things about that, but I’ve also heard it can be more troublesome for a newbie than other test.SUST IS EASY FOR BEGINNERS.
How about post cycle?4 DAYS WEEKLY HITTING EACH BODY PART ONCE PER WEEK AND GOING HEAVY IS ONE OF THE CORRECT WAYS TO LIFT WHILE ON CYCLE.
6) I could stand to lose some pudge around the abdomen and upper torso (couldn’t everyone? ). Can I expect any results in this area from my cycle?YES..TEST HELPS BURN FAT,THIS WILL DEPEND ON CARDIO AND WHAT DIET YOU KEEP WHILE ON.
7) While on cycle, should I increase, decrease or maintain the same level of cardio? How about post-cycle?ALL DEPENDS ON THE GOAL OF THE CYCLE.
8) I’m sure there’s no guideline, but is there a ballpark figure of how much muscle mass can I expect to keep? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE 65 % -75 % OF GAINS KEPT.
9) Any other basic guidelines anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE GEAR NOW.THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME FOR THAT LATER IN LIFE.YOU NEED A CHANGE IN YOUR WORK OUT PLAN AND DIET.WE WILL HELP YOU ACHEIVE YOUR GOALS.
Thanks very much in advance for any advice.
YOU ARE WELCOME....D

Agreed. Roid rage is one of the MYTHS out there about people who are not educated on the matter. If someone has a temper problem and blows up all the time, then they will on AAS. If they are mellow, then they will not have an issue. There are more cases of alcohol rage than anything else. Also, I noticed you said that if you got on cycle, that obviously you would change your diet. Tell you what, go ahead and start that diet now. Eat like you would if you were taking and see what happens to your body. All AAS do is use food more effictiantly in the body to repair muscles so if you are not feeding it correctly, it will not grow any way. Try eating 6-7 times a day and getting those cals up there and see if you cant break that 200 lb mark naturally
All great advice guys, many thanks. I'm seeing a nutritionist/trainer this week or next, so I'll see what kind of meal plan we work out.
Right now, I'm trying to lose about 5 inches (so about 5lbs, I guess), but I'm concerned about losing mass as well. Probably paranoid, I know.
As for gear, you're probably right, it's too early and such, but I'm just trying to keep my options open. How much longer should I wait? Also, dennis, you mentioned problems arising later in life for those that use AAS early, could you elaborate?

Thanks again.
Hormonal issues mostly. You wouldn't like to be set on TRT for the rest of your life eh? Not that it's too likely to happen but you can't be sure if it's going to happen to you or not.

All great advice guys, many thanks. I'm seeing a nutritionist/trainer this week or next, so I'll see what kind of meal plan we work out. GREAT IDEA..A GOOD TRAINER WILL SAVE YOU LOTS OF TIME AND MONEY ! I BET YOU ARE NOT CONSUMING HALF THE CALORIES YOU SHOULD BE TO GROW.
Right now, I'm trying to lose about 5 inches (so about 5lbs, I guess), but I'm concerned about losing mass as well. Probably paranoid, I know.YOUR TRAINER SHOULD HELP YOU WITH THIS.
As for gear, you're probably right, it's too early and such, but I'm just trying to keep my options open. How much longer should I wait? THIS IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION..IN MY OPINION TRAIN NATURAL AND USE THE GEAR SPARINGLY IN YOUR 30'S.Also, dennis, you mentioned problems arising later in life for those that use AAS early, could you elaborate?STUDY LONG TERM USE OF STEROIDS AND FIND THE ANSWERS YOURSELF,IT WILL MEAN MORE TO YOU THIS WAY.
Thanks again.
YOU ARE WELCOME BRO AND WELCOME ABOARD !
