Default Pumped Up

So what do you guys do to get pumped up and motivated for the gym? I mean everything...music....what do you eat/drink before your workout....any routines you do....anything...

Im hoping your answer isnt gear haha....I cant ever seem to stay pumped and aggressive....No matter what I eat...how much sleep I get..anything...Im forcing myself to work...but If I was pumped up and more aggressive the whole time I know I could push up that extra plate in the gym without being fatigued.

Try nitric oxide, grekic and creatine. Good supplements to get a better pump. Caffeine and ephedrine also excellent in another way.

There's only two problems with weight training... one, the weights are heavy, and two, lifting them makes you tired. It separates the wannabees from the doers.

As far as motivation... like doing anything in life well, it has to come from within. External motivations don't last. Either you innately want to do it or you don't. Sure putting on some hard rock or popping some ephedrine can help, but that's just the flavoring. The real meat of going to the gym and knowing you're going to have fun while busting your butt with heavy ass weights that leave you ready to puke... that's just either in you or it's not.

Best regards,
MaxRep

Lol I should just forget I posted this...The way I come off while asking the question is not how it was suppose to seem..Because I in no way do I want to give up on my goals (and I wont) and I think my post may come off as sounding so.

when i was 21-24 i managed a gym in my small town (at whopping 5$an hr lol) i lifted with two other guys and we all would start out drinking some joe putting on cassettes of our harshest metal pop caffeine and ephed tabs then work out , we ran 5x5 programs on the powerlifts. we ran our adrenals down so bad !! i ended up taking a year off any stimulants at all just to normalise everything. thease days i spend time just visualizing what i want to achieve before i hit it.

I think about the movements all day. For example, lets say it 's back day, all through out the day I think of gripping the bar, going through the movements of deadlifting, rowing, etc. All day long I'll have a number in my head as a new PR and I'll imagine myself lifting it.
I do everything I do for myself, no one else, I have a need to do this. So I'm motivated to fulfill this need to be stronger and bigger the same way I'm motivated to eat or drink or sleep to survive. I like living this way, so I continue to do it.
Oh yea, and getting laid.. can't forget that. ALPHA MALE!!!

I totaly understand that it comes from within. I always make sure I work out evry day (now every other day) and I always push harder and harder. I guess what I ment is how do I gather up more energy.I'm always so tired...It doesnt stop me from kicking my own ass but its frustrating..Ive tried differnt amounts of sleep....different meals.....carbs.....something to drive my energy up

Try eating some brown rice one hour before your workout and use more hi-rep isolation moves. That should do the trick. Try supersets, trisets, etc.

Just get out there and do it. If you have energy or if you are tired. Consistency is what most people lack in the gym. There are many guys that you will see "every once in a while" at the gym that don't get any bigger over the years.

This is true. As long as your there and push very hard while your their that's all you need. I never miss a wkout and sometimes I don't want to lift but I go regardless because it's programmed on what I have to do. Sometimes I don't even remember lifting when I get out, sometimes I go into robot mode, but I always go, and I always work hard.

MaxRep's post reminded me of a conversation I had with an elderly member of our gym. One day as I was leaving she asked, "I was just wondering what you do for a living that allows you to come here every day and work so hard?"

I replied, "Ah, my friend, I sit behind a desk 8 hours a day, But It's not so much what I do for a living. Rather, it's how I choose to live that gets me here."

Regards,
B230

Ps. I take a small amount of pride that my work ethic will impress even the elderly members of the gym. I've got a long way to go before I could even begin to impress you folks! I'll have to get to work on that...

Have a great day!
