quad vs. glute?

Recently I've heard that there is a study showing significantly higher levels of a particular drug (I can't remember which was used in the study) an hour after administration to the glute as opposed to the delt. Is this valid?

It makes sense intuitively, as there is a lot more muscle tissue in the ass than there is in the shoulder. But what about the quad? I'd much rather stick a pin in my thigh than my ass, but if it makes a significant difference then the glute will do.

Anyone?

I find it hard to believe it would make any noticeable difference.When you are talking about drugs with a half life of days rather than hours it seems the difference would be minute.

Not sure about this. I know that IM shots are absorbed much faster than Sub Q due to the capillaries in muscle tissue. But I don't know that your glutes would have more capillaries than your delts or quads...

Thanks fellas. Anyone else with a theory/opinion? Has anyone seen the study that I'm referring to? I myself saw it posted on another board a couple of weeks ago, and then saw that someone mentioned it on yet another board.

I've read that glutes generate the highest plasma levels of the hormones. I hope I said that right. Late night last night.
