Quick Insulin question

I just purchased a 10ml bottle of humulin R and was wondering if I was measuring the does correctly. From what I understand the bottle has 100 IU per Ml. So it has a total of 1000 IU. If your dose is 5 IU and you are using a terumo U-100 slin pin you would draw slin to the 5th tick on the syringe? Thanks for the help. Just want to make sure I am taking the correct dosage.

as long as u mean the 5th tick out of 100 ticks on the syringe that is 100-u slin syringe u are correct

Correct. Remember that if your injecting your slin IM it will take effect quicker....meaning there is a smaller window to down your dextrose/protein shake before going hypo.

Thanks for the info guys. I just want to make sure I am safe. Really don't want to fuck around with slin. What type of solid food meals do you eat after you take your slin? I was thinking of about a cup of brown rice/or potatoes and chicken breast 45 min after my shake and then again 2hrs later. How does that sound? Thanks again.

No one should be answering insulin questions unless they have considerable personal experience.

Terumo U-100 syringes are ticked at every 2 iu's. So NO, you don't go to 5 ticks for 5iu's as 5 ticks is equal to 10iu's.

Taking exactly 5iu's is very difficult with a 100iu slin pin. You should order the 30iu syringes and use them. They are much easier to use with small quantities.

Immediately after my injection I down about 7grms of dextrose per IU of slin. I like humalog IM because it clears my system faster. I then wait 10-15min and consume some whey protein at at 5grms per IU. Appr. 1hr later I then eat two chicken breasts and some complex carbs(rice, pasta, taters, and the like). Then I'm good for the rest of the day. Just try and remember to keep your fat intake as low as possible while the slin is stin in your system. Good luck.

that slin is some serious shit, I heard you cold fuck some shit up bad if you do it wrong, i guarantee I will do about a good solid 6 months research before I even think abput that, I heard many doog things about it

Actually I have both the 1/2 cc and 1cc pins. The 1/2 cc pins do count 1 tick at a time. The 1cc are two per tick. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks for all the great info. Helps a ton.

Bigpaca, yes, the 30iu and 50iu syringes are 1iu/tick. However the 100iu syringes you originally mentioned are 2 iu's/tick and I didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea with something as critical as insulin.
