Why are steroids illegal? Money. Professional sports only make money because people pay to see the games. If normal people believe they are artificial, and they can no longer identify with them, they lose their respect, interest and similarities with their sports heroes. That's why they need to keep steroids out of sports. Their rules say the sport must be steroid free. So the government receives 'sponsorship' from sports to keep them illegal, so they can keep making money.
Make the comparison. Countries where steroids are legal have no multi-milion dollar sports industry. Do not believe for one second the government is doing it for your health or protection. They take away your freedom and muscle so they can make money. They banned steroids with zero proof of high health risks. They banned them because they worked. |
Good post. I can think of another reason to villify steroids. The profits of companies such as Eli Lilly and Pfizer goes up. The correct treatment for a limp dick and moodiness in men is to find out what hormones are not in balance and fix that. Proviron is actually an ED and libido drug, but there is an interest to keep that out of the US because it is much less expensive than all of the dick pills. The countries that do not have special restrictions on steroids also are not bases for big Pharma. If steroids were so bad for you, I do not think there would be so many forums of steroid users. Not easy to go online if you are 6 feet under or scattered over the Pacific Ocean.
I have hesitations about making it totally OTC, but here's a thought. It is not that easy for minors to buy alcohol and tobacco. Why? They are for sale with proper ID. On the other hand, I highly doubt a meth dealer or the guy behind the gym or most of our sources are too picky about how old their "customers" are. By making something illegal, you have actually relinquished all control over it. Prohibitions do not work. It would be my dream, as well as some of you out there if gear were kept behind the counter and only for sale to adults. They fine people out of business for selling alcohol and tobacco to minors, I think, "go away, you are too young for this." will probably work.
The DEA looking over the doctor's shoulder is nothing more than a disservice to the health of men. Remember, I am not a bodybuilder or an athlete in any way. The only reason why I am here is because I have been hypogonadal all of my life and doctors are more worried about what the DEA will think rather than what effect my living with low T will do to my health. I also consider the use of
AAS in the same category as plastic surgery. It is a medical procedure that modifies one's appearance. By making it a black market affair, all controls and safeguards have been removed. Those few famous "deaths from steroid use", might not have been if disinterested physician were monitoring the cycle. I highly doubt breast implants and facelifts would be safe if those procedures were only done in someone's bathroom versus a legitimate clinic.
