i would go with the 1 1/2. Get really deep. The one inch isn't enough for me and I'm 6'5" 225.

1.5 " 20g is what i use for glutes. But that over time will leave you with some nice scar tissue. I think you could get away with a 22-25 if you had someone giving you injections. If you are doing it yourself...20 is quicker and less hassle.

I HAD 1-1/2" 22.5, but now I have 1" 23. was just thinking that they arent long enough for a 300lb guy.

I am 300-315 plus lbs in the offseason, the 1" work for me. I dont do my own shots though, my wife is an RN she takes care of it. Like i said, if i was doing my own pinning, i'd use 1.5" 'rs.
