Well, there isn't any way that anyone on this site can answer that question. She would need a full blood panel done to determine the best dosage of syntrhoid for her.

This question is better posted to a physician. Any particular reason you are asking what dosage of T/3 a post menopausal woman should be taking ona sited that is dedicated to body building and strength sports; instead of just taking her to her family physician?

Yeah, my mom is a runner and she is having a lot of trouble leaning out. She runs everyday and eats well, but cannot get lean. She's also had some other thyroid related ailments lately. What is a standard dosage of T3/T4 combination for weightloss?

sigh.... I'm sorry you are dis-satisfied with the forum but again.. Post menopausal women really aren't a regular here. I mean I could give you a guess and a cookie cutter answer based off of what a healthy 240lb Male in his 20's might take. but somehow I don't think I should be offering that advice.

If you are looking for simple dosages for T3/T4 for bodybuilders. I advise you use the search feature and find out on your own. but your best option is to find out what dosage a dr is prescribing for someone in her condition and than make very miminal tweeks to the dosage... Please remember. T3 is in MicroGrams not Miligrams.

You're such a duck (quack). It's been a little slow...THIS WEEK. I guess the 4 or 5 guys that have all the answers are on vacation.. Maybe we should learn more on our own? Just a thought.

Have her go to her doctor, check her panels, and they will put her on it. My mom is the same, she had cancer many moons ago.

Phreezer is right. However, I can at least give some info. Of course, everyone is different and will react differently. Being so small she would probably need less. A proper doc would start her out on the lowest dose and then retest in a month. She may be able to go with straight T4 (synthroid type) or need a combo like Armour (T3/T4 combo). Here's where it gets tricky. Almost every doc I know will check the TSH and if it's in the norm they won't check anything else. If it is out of whack they will check T4 but will NOT check T3 unless the T4 is out of whack. This is messed up because T4 converts into T3 and just because you have plenty of T4 does NOT mean you have plenty of T3...it's possible the enzyme needed for conversion is not being made in sufficient quantities. So, yer gonna have to convince the doc to check TSH, T4, T3, free T4 and free T3. AND yer gonna have to have the doc TELL the lab to do those tests. The labs often won't test them all unless they are told they need to. Again, the T3 not being tested blah blah.

Good luck bro
