I'm 31, starting on TRT. My last blood test came back at 197ng/dL for total test. LH and FSH were normal, but I don't have primary hypogonadism, so I'm assuming they are inappropriately normal. I'd like to have children in the next 3-5 years. I've only been able to find contradicting evidence on exogenous hormone treatment and fertility. HCG could clearly keep my leydig cells functioning throughout treatment, but FSH is directly responsible for spermatogenesis and is going to experience suppression as well. Would I need to go off TRT and use FSH supplementation at the point when my wife and I try and conceive, or will HCG alone be enough? If the exogenous testosterone is stopped, how do you deal with issues like libido loss and erectile dysfunction? Any advice? |
