I've recently took an interest to body building. I have a terribly thin and horrible body which I really want to improve on, I'm really embarressed with it and when I see someone with a lot of muscle I get really jealous and annoyed how I have no idea how to get that way. I feel weak and look weak and I do get the piss ripped out of me at times.
I registered to a gym which is about 4 miles away and I have 2 dumbells at home. I have used the gym, but I know I'm not doing it right, I'm downhearted and need a boost. I've heard things like you need to diet, eat 5 or 6 times a day, but that sounds expensive and I don't think i'll make time for it with college and work.
I really need some advice, What I should eat, How often do I work out? I'm really down about this just now and I'll appreciate and listen to any advice. Steroids have sounded soo tempting, although I don't want to (and I won't) coz i know of the side effects
I'm 100% committed to this and won't slack off or ignore any advice. Thank you a lot. And sorry if I sound like a desperate little kid or anything lol.
Mate, just eat loads of red meat and if you're new to training maybe consider getting a personal trainer in the gym. There are loads of more advanced programs here for you to try once you have the basics down. As for steroids, stay away, you are far too young to even think about it. You can still make serious gains naturally at your age! Without trying to discourage you it aint gonna be easy man, but anything worth having is worth working for, no? Try and keep the diet clean as possible, work out what your BMR is (look up BMR calculator on google) the eat about 750-1000 calories more than that every day. You should notice very good gains in size and strength!
iluvdeadlifts gave you some great advice. Do not be shy or embarrassed at the gym. I am sure if you as questions and talk to people and get to know them, there will be many that would be more than happy to help.
We all start somewhere and now is you time. Remember all those people you look at the gym today that look great were not born that way. They were just like you when they started or even worse, they were fat and had to lose a ton of weight.
First, you need to be in the training and nutrition sections. Sorry to disappoint you but this area of the board is for adults only.
Second, a BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) of 857 is very low. I'm not sure how you came up with that number outside a lab. If you ran some web site calculator, it could be off significantly. Not that it matters as that number has almost zero real world application in bodybuilding. What the 857 means is... that is the number of calories your body would consume in a 24 hour period if you were at complete rest the entire time. Big deal, so what, who cares. Other than it tells me your entire body must be rather small.
Go read through the training and nutrition sections and then spend a year in the gym applying what you've read.
Good luck,
MaxRep

Yea bro, stick to those forums and work your ass off. When I was a junior in high school, I hit a growth sprut and grew about 6 inches, I was also running cross country, so I was very thin all of a sudden. Well, I was 6'2" and about 150lbs, THAT is skinny! Well, I almost tried to get some aas because my friends said it would help, but I didnt. I read up on diets and workouts and in two years (and thanks to puberty) I was close to 200 when I graduated. After tha, I spent the next few years sticking to the principles that I learned. And naturally, I was about 240lbs before I decided to try my hand at AAS. So, naturally, with diet, determination, and just growing up, I added almost a 100 lbs to a small frame. Now, with the more knowledge I have and the base I already made and the help of the other items I use, I am currently at 295. I have pretty much doubled my size since I started out. Just dont get down about not seeing anything overnight bro. All good things come to those who wait. And if you keep at it, you WILL get it! It might have taken me10 years, but I have gotten here
My advice to you as well is to not give up. It took years for me to get the muscle that I have now, but I had a lot of friends when I was your age who quit because they didn't become an Adonis in 3 months. Remember, it takes time. Keep at it, and eat as much protein as you can.
I've recently took an interest to body building. Thats where you need to change things bro. If you really want to gain muscle you HAVE TO eat correctly. Eat big to get big. Its not an easy thing to get use to and can be somewhat expensive, but that comes with the territory.
Also, Im glad to see that youre not so eager to get right on AAS. They wont do a thing for you unless diet is in check which alot of people new in the bbing world dont seem to grasp. Theres much more to it than that. At this point, staying away from them is a great choice youve made for yourself.
I wish you the best of luck. Listen to what Maxrep and the others have said. Go to the nutrition section of this board. Theres a world of information there. Take care of yourself.....
