What is the best way to draw out of a Amp?

Is there any secrets on drawing the test out of amps. I seem to draw alot of air with the test when i am drawing it out. Also its seems that i push a lot of air with the test into the muscle will this hurt anything. I have always used vials before so it was no problem before. Should i break all the amps open and put them into one vial. thanks for the help

Do not dump out the amps into a vial, too much chances of contamination. Use a larger 18 ga needle to draw out of the amp. Then tip the syringe up and pull back a little on the plunger to get all the oil into the barrel. Then switch the needle to a 23 ga or what ever you use for injecting. Then flick the barrel to get the air to the needle tip then push all the air out. You shouldn't inject too much air, a few tiny bubbles is ok.

Hi,

First, make sure the vial is upside down with the pin coming in from the bottom. Second, you want to insert the pin just a little into the vial where most or all of the test is above the top of the pin. This will limit the air you get into the syringe.. If you do get too much just push the air back into the vial and try it again.

As far as air goes I had a nurse tell me once that you'd have to shoot about 3cc's write into a vein to be worried. she was doing an IV on me and I saw a couple little bubbles in there and asked her that and she just kinda laughed......11

Correct to be worried about cardiac arrest. You still don't want a bunch of air going in with the oil on account of the larger amount of air will try and escape back out the injection site.
