I've been taking 1mg./day of Arimidex alone, without testosterone or any steroids, and my E2 level dropped from 18 to <2. My testosterone rose from 418 to 826. I'd like to find a dosing method that would raise my E2 to at least 10. Any suggestions?

Do a search in the Men's health forum. There are a lot of threads on this topic. I'm on 0,25 mg every 5 days. I used to be on 0,25 mg every 4 days. At the moment you take way too much. Start your dosage low, take a bloodtest and gently increase the dosage if your E2 is still too high. The ideal range is around 25-30 pg/ml. (take the Ultra-sensitive test, not the "normal one", which is for testing female blood) I agree with LifeSize: everybody needs some E and E2 to function properly. Aim for 25-30 pg/ml, not the low 10 pg/ml. Is there a specific reason why you want to reach 10 pg/ml? Where did you get that number from?? Last edited by Axl; 07-08-2008 at 04:56 AM. |

Thanks for your responses. Prior to taking Arimidex, my E2 tested at around 18, with my testosterone at 418. A urologist put me on Adx to improve my libido.(I'm a 50 year old that had bypass surgery in the past). I'm also a bodybuilder that doesn't use steroids, however could benefit from higher testosterone. The doc said that my urine test showed that the low E2(<2) in the ultrasensitive test, wasn't affecting my bones. I still felt that I needed to raise the E2 to at least 10, after all that I read in this forum. My doc now recommends 1mg. Adx every other day. I think that still may be too much. Jadd |

You might want to drop down to 0.5 EOD and then test in about 30 days or so. You're fortunate because you've had excellent results. |

Are you guys monitoring your lipids? Long term use, at moderate to high doses can alter cholesterol.. Keep an eye on it, and keep us posted. You guys should look into some cortisol control and something like nettle root for shbg..(to compliment your adex therapy)..shoot, you may even want to give hCG at 250iu a week a try?

| Some people have lipid fluctuations on Arimidex, they should use Aromasin. I'm no different on it, than off it, i'm down to 0.5ml 1x week..

Just got my bloodwork and urinalysis back. I'm now on 1mg. EOD (for about a month) of Adx and my urine came back with no signs of bone loss, which is what I was concerned about with my E2 being < 2 in the ultra - sensitive test. These are the results: Total Testosterone: 825 Free,%,Testosterone: 1.2% Free Testosterone: 98.5 Total Cholesterol: 115 HDL (good chol): 45 LDL (bad chol): 61 Triglycerides: 43 The doc didn't want to do another E2 test and said that he didn't care about the results since my urine came back clean. Also, I'm on Vytorin and that explains my excellent cholesterol numbers. It seems like the Adx is not affecting my lipids. Thanks, Jadd |
